So,

we’re down to 4 teams with one place left in the so called promise land.

realistically now, all four teams are even.

what’s happened in the league means nothing.
It’s just on these next 2 games.

so

Bristol v Sheff
Coventry V SAFC.

Will we see an all striped affair at Wembley at the end of May?
Or a battle of the two cities?
will the robins face the black cats?
Will the blues be blunted by the blades?

let the heartbreak or glory begin

and may the odds be ever in your favour

Season starts again. Between now and Friday we need to bin any negative thoughts and get ready for it.

We had an ‘outside chance’ of getting into them before the season, so an ‘outside chance’ is f going up will do me.

We know, we have seen, that we can beat anyone in the league on our day. 3 days and we up.

I want to add mind, no meltdown here if we stay down, it’s probably a year too soon and I’d hate the season Saints or Leicester just had.

What will be will be, I’ll be there next year, as always, and I actually ****ing love this league.

Of course, still be gutted if we fail, rather we lost semi than final so I’m glad we have Coventry as I truly believe it’s them or us.

This is a competition between four teams who weren't good enough to be promoted automatically.

Various runs teams have been on mean nothing now. Sheff Utd were ten points short, just beaten by the bottom team and lost their nerve when the pressure was on. Bristol and Coventry just lost to Luton who were relegated.

Sunderland can beat Coventry, perhaps they will or they won't.

But I've no time for bogey teams, jinxes or results over the seasons ...

... all that matters is what happens on the night.

No doubt people will say Simms is 'nailed on' to score despite no ex-Sunderland or ex-Mag having managed that all season.

Coventry have just managed to lose to Plymouth and Luton, both L1 clubs, and draw with Hull. They've had an exhausting campaign and will only have a short break before they have to start all over again ...

... Sunderland have had an entire pre-season <laugh>

It’s a straight shoot out.
It’s about who turns up when it matters more now that the previous 46 games.

a draw at Coventry would be grand but haven’t been them in 18 years

I think sheff United will get through, just a bit too much quality for Bristol city.

Then it’s really all about us in the other game. If we play like we have then I’d confidently predict Coventry to go through.

Still got a bit of hope though, you’d think our form will turn by averages if anything, same with our results against Coventry. Or even if there’s a mentality shift from us. Why I’m a bit deflated is that, although I think we’ll improve, I just can’t see how we’re all of a sudden going to start creating a decent amount of chances again. Effort levels can dip because of our position, but not sure how much tactically will change.

If we get through though, that confidence will be back, and with the size of Wembley and the pace we have up front, I’d fancy us to win the final.

THERE CAN ONLY ONE !
And please let it be Sunderland!

Mark my word we’ll see a different Sunderland on Friday, we’ll see the crunching Hulme and O’Nein tackles that have been missing, we’ll see the fight dialled up to 11.

Haway the fecking lads and may the force be with you !

A post Marcus made about Dean Ashton revealing players have their own conversations going into the dead rubber games has gave me a lift. RLB can ask for play off mode all he wants but the players know the most important thing is to be available come Friday. The game got a bit feisty yesterday when QPR began to break the tacit agreement to take it easy in the tackles and I actually thought we saw a little bit of personality from the team for a few minutes in response.

Nothing to lose now, no holding back. Get the win away and the Alamo at home will do me!

I’m expecting a good shoe-ing on Friday. Got similar vibes to the 2021 play off campaign v Lincoln

I noticed a few of our lads noticeably avoid 50/50s or even 70/30s

rightly so in one regard, hanging my hat we go up a gear Friday

Dangerous game going from nothing to 100mph, one poor timed heavy tackle and we could be down to ten, proof will be in the pudding come the end of may only then can we truly comment on the approach we’ve taken
