It's not fully dead yet, but other options are obviously being looked at as we won't let ourselfs be left without a player at the last min and struggle to find a replacement if it doesn't happen... We are keen and the lplayers very keen

Good signing for Coventry, Derby were hoping to hold onto him but couldn't sort out an acceptable contract offer for him.
Not surprised. I've seen him play once & that was in Wycombe's Sky game v Swansea. I remember he stood out, looked a real player so surprised to see he struggled to feature. Even if we got him in & Slater became available later in the window, I wouldn't be surprised to see Grant take him too. I know we'd have a lot of bodies then, but they're all on modest wages and competition for places was key to our success last season.

I don't think it was a dig, just paying a compliment to his new employers.
Well the implication is that the last place he was at didn't have that occurring.
That's inference on the reader's part though, I don't think it's implication on his. Because as we know, the dressing room was pretty united and I can't see somebody like Jacob Greaves or Alfie Jones being lazy and still getting in the team.
It's a typical new signing comment, if people try to make it out to be something it's not, that's their issue
You can be complimentary about your new club without having a dig at your last club. I say he was having a dig. In fact I'd say it was bleeding obvious.
