Another random question.

What are the 3 most irritatingly overused words or expressions you hear these days ?

For me:

1) Absolutely.
A bloody simple "yes" (or even a "no") would suffice.

2) Brilliant.
Particularly when referring to a goal, a tackle, a pass or a goalie's save. Ain't that what footballers are paid to do routinely ? Applies to almost every incident in most sports these days.

3) Global pandemic.

Every bloody expert, interviewer or respondent to questions in the media obviously have no idea what "pandemic" means. Global is intrinsically part of it's definition.

I lead a sad life.

No easy panaceas. As Clive James said, there are no difficult ones.

"Brilliant" and now becoming increasingly common "amazing".

An example. I was on the phone to a customer service person. They asked if I would hold for a couple of minutes. I said "yes, no problem". The response was "amazing".

No it's not f'in amazing!!! All I'm doing is sitting here waiting for 2 minutes. Unless, every other customer that person has ever had has told them to do one and hung up perhaps?

Hear this more and more. It's ridiculous.

you need to use lines of latitude because north doesn't point straight up on the map - this shows Stoke, Derby and Nottingham are all about the same - Midland ****holes
