Thing is with Poyet it needs to be taken into account where we currently are in the footballing pyramid. We are 8th in the third division like, Poyet is a fantastic coup for a club in our position, He has managed in the top leagues in Europe, has a cracking win percentage in most of them and more importantly he understands and gets the football club and the area.

Its a fantastic appointment for where we are now and a huge signal of intent / ambition from the new owners
And he's managed in this league before. His Brighton team were class at this level and pissed it.

Couple that with both Magnus and prehab saying it’s likely to be Poyet yesterday. Which for me was as much confirmation as I’ll need until it’s on the website. All signs are pointing that way. If it doesn’t happen now it will likely be to do with the sporting director situation
I think the sd is done and dusted and both him (whoever it is) and poyet have each other’s principals in place before he is announced then I think it could really be the start of the real gus bus.

Don't let it bother you mate. When all this gets finalised, there's more than a few over both boards who'll be wriggling, squirming and backtracking, trying to pick up any little minutiae, in a futile attempt to disguise their foolishness.
No mate they’ll look for negatives, horrible twats, what a **** way to go through life man. Caution is good, permanent negativity must be soul destroying, I’d end it all if I couldn’t find the plus points of a crap manager being sacked while a young enthusiastic billionaire was looking to takeover the club.

I hope so, but my interpretation of something @Prehab26 posted last night was that the SD wasn’t quite done. Hopefully I read that wrong

I see a few people on the other side having a few digs at me again I held my hands up I said I got the names wrong,

but On the 18th of October I messaged @Wheatsheaf this

‘I haven’t got a clue at the minute mate, all I keep getting now about FPP is the have to be involved,

but what I’ve been
Told is
New shares In

Donald and CM to keep share
Sartori and new people to have majority

new people have a lot of money’
With the best will in the world, it's impossible to be right all the time. A, things change, and fast, B, you're at the mercy of the people informing you. Easy to keep info to yourself, but good to share. Most reasonable people like hearing the bits of info and accept that it can't always be right

It's not just the negativity either.....it's the often insulting, hateful abuse that accompanies it.

It's got to the stage on here now whereby if your not uber positive in absolutely every way you need to **** off back to RTG and don't want the club to be successful, apparently. Proper beirn behaviour.
Not really. Some of us have just had enough of the drivvel posted over there and just want a place to discuss SAFC stuff without every thread turning into a slagging competition about how much they REEEALLLLLY hate 'fatty' or 'salmon trousers'. People are posting their whinge there, then posting the same whinge here to try and illicit the same response. That's proper bairn behaviour.

Poyet’s return will make me livid about the Ethan Robson and Bali Mumba departures mind. Both, especially Robson, would have suited him to the ground. I reckon he’d have build the team around Ethan.
Agree on Mumba but not robson, I think we need to build the team around embleton. Much the same way Spurs did with hoddle he could be ours, let the other team worry about our star player

absolutely. Embleton and Neil with Diamond in the “Buckley role” :D

Prehab mate I want to believe it’s there only because I win some money!! I’m not a betting man at all so don’t understand what I would win.
I know I’ve put on $100. The odds thing said $1.83. I don’t have a clue what that means. Basically if he is appointed how much will I win?

Sounds like the odds were 1.83 (hope not because that seems very low odds mind). Basically with decimal odds you multiply the amount you put on by the odds and that's the total amount you get back including your stake. So in this case you win $83. Still canny enough like!

Seen very little whinging on here to be honest, only whinging seems to be from uber positive posters whinging about whinging posters on RTG <laugh>

Aye, discussion, disagreements are all part of day to day life, it’s healthy in fact as sometimes it changes your own mind on a subject. But they seem to hunt in packs knowing for a fact their arses would drop out face to face.

We can agree to disagree about the definition of 'claims' and 'postings', it's immaterial really. However, you posted "...the point is he (Methven) still influences things even though he’s resigned....." . It's only natural that people will want to know a) what it is he influences and b) by how much he influences them, given his low reputation amongst the support. As a member/contributor of WMS you can't be naive enough to think that that post/claim would remain unchallenged. As to his attendance at homes games - I couldn't give a flying one, he won't dare show his face when the club have paying customers in attendance once again.

FWIW, my opinion is that his influence extends no further than PR and anything in relation to the actual day-to-day running of the club was by dint of his association with SD back when they were bosom-buddies so they agreed on most things in order to flip the club and make a few quid. SD being the majority shareholder made CMs 'agreement' to anything moot as SD didn't need his backing anyway. CMs 'influence' has always been, and will always be of a very minor variety given his shareholding. All imo of course.
To be fair to Gareth, he was asked what Methven had influenced since his resignation from safc board and he did point out the not so small matter of helping to appoint the CEO. So I'd argue that his statement has somewhat stood up to scrutiny.
