But seriously, I am a fan of the stats too (I think, sorry stats haters, that they will become ever more sophisticated and important), but I do think they have to be used really cautiously because so much is going on in a football match that you simply cannot rely on stats alone
I agree. Stats don't lie but they are prone to misuse!
All the more reason to use Newton's calculations then, Rob. On the other hand, you could plant yellow roses.
Looking at the present First Team squad I found the following situation;
Krul, McGovern and Oxborough all available
Aarons, Hanley, Mumba all available
Gibson (loan in) available Quintilla (loan in) injured, Zimmermann injured, Byram injured,
All of Famewo, Klose, Heise and McCullum are out on loan
Rupp, Vrancic, Placheta, Cantwell, Buendia, Stiepermann, Sorensen, Skipp (in loan), McLean, Martin, are available.
Dowell and Hernandez are injured
Tettey, Hugill, Pukki, Idah are available
All of Sanani, Sitti, Trybull, Thompson and Morris are out on loan
Leitner and Drmic are surplus to requirements
9 players are out on loan and 3 are in on loan. Five players are presently injured, 3 long term (Byram, Hernandez and Dowell) and two are hopefully short term (Quintilla and Zimmermann)
Out of 37 players, 21 are available with another two surplus to requirements, but also available if needed?

Working our way through the top teams in the league now; Bournemouth (4th), Bristol (5th), Swansea (6th) Millwall (9th), plus Brentford (11th). Boro and Stoke to come (7th and 8th), then that leaves Watford and Reading as the only teams left to face in the top half.
