Him being from the area and being a fan I would hope is a big thing for him. I'd like us to keep the homegrown lads around for as long as humanly possible.
Totally agree. The more home grown players or players that have come right through our academy the better.

Is this bloke trying to fail!!!

Hull fish and chip shop serving halloumi dippers and fish 'mega box' is about to open
Whitehead's will start serving food from Thursday

A new fish and chip shop is opening up in north Hull and it will be good news for vegetarians.

Called Whitehead’s – but no connection to the one in Hornsea – the new takeaway will start serving up meals on Thursday in Cottingham Road, close to McDonald’s.

Owner Lee Whitehead says he has been looking to open a fish and chip shop for some time and has now taken over the former Fryer Tuck premises.

He said: “I have a love affair with fish and chips and I have been looking for a suitable place to open my own takeaway for two years.

“I have carried out a full renovation and I think it looks pretty cool.”

“At the moment it is just takeaway but we are hoping to do home delivery in the near future.”

Mr Whitehead has made the decision not to use traditional methods of frying the food to cater for vegetarians.

He said: “We fry our food in rapeseed oil so it is suitable for vegetarians.

“Most fish and chip shops still use beef dripping which is very tasty but there are a lot more vegetarians now.

The new Whitehead's Fish and Chip shop, Cottingham Road, Hull, is opening on Thursday
“I only know of four or five places in Hull which do not use beef dripping. This means a significant number of people cannot have fish and chips.

“All our food is sourced locally, even the potatoes, and I’d like to thank Seasider Seafoods Hull which has kindly supported our new business and has donated 100 haddock."

Mr Whitehead believes his new chippy can offer something a bit different to other outlets in Hull.

“We have a wide-ranging menu", he said. "We offer fish fingers, which I have been told is unusual round here, and we also serve vegetarian sausages.

“We also serve halloumi dippers with sweet chilli sauce and pie and mash.

“We also have a kids’ menu and we serve the Molly’s Mega Box for £10."

While the business is a family affair, with both of Lee’s daughters Ellie and Molly working there, six local people all living within a mile of the takeaway have been employed.

Mr Whitehead said: “I am like a Cheshire cat right now. I have been waiting for this moment for a long time.”

Whitehead’s will open on Thursday and will be open seven days a week from 11.30am until 8pm.

My hunch is a 3 year extension with an option of a fourth, which would essentially make it a 5 year deal (being a four year extension beyond the expiry of his current one).

Oh dear has the bubble burst...
Do they not know who he is !!!!!

Ex-Hull City man Marcus Maddison told to work harder if he wants to play for Charlton Athletic
The 27-year-old former Tigers midfielder has had a difficult start to life at Charlton Athletic under Lee Bowyer.
Former Hull City midfielder Marcus Maddison has been told he needs to work harder if he’s to feature for Charlton Athletic this season.
The 27-year-old departed the KCOM Stadium in the summer and was picked up by the Addicks as a free agent.
It’s been a tough start to life under Lee Bowyer for Maddison, who had to wait until yesterday’s FA Cup clash against Plymouth to get his first start for his new club.
Not helped by an ankle injury which sidelined him, Maddison played six minutes in League One last Saturday against Sunderland and followed that with a full debut yesterday as Charlton were dumped out the FA Cup.
Taken off after 65 minutes, Maddison’s performance failed to impress Bowyer.
“If I was to use one word, it would be rusty,” said Bowyer, on Maddison’s first start.

I’d use others that wouldn’t be printable!!!!!

Hull City are tracking Bohemians sensation Danny Grant with a view to making a move when the transfer window opens in January.

Grant has hit blistering form in recent months - form which has seen interest grow from England, with Grant McCann’s Tigers one of a number of Championship and League One clubs keeping tabs on the winger, Hull Live understands.

Having turned 20 last month, Grant’s rise to prominence has been quite stark since he was spotted playing for Dublin Sunday league side Bangor Celtic just three years ago.

In July 2017, the pacey winger who can also operate through the middle of attack penned a deal with Bohemian’s Under-19s squad, before going on to make his senior debut in a pre-season friendly against Drogheda United the following January.

After returning from the enforced break due to Covid-19, the Republic of Ireland youngster signed a deal until the end of the 2020 season; continuing his fine form of last term, he’s bagged six goals in five games, including a hat-trick in the 3-1 win at Dublin rivals Shelbourne last month.

Such has been his eye-catching displays, Grant was named the league’s Player of the Month in August.

Interesting that Cooper states that we are. PB always said “according to reports”. So either he knows for definite or he’s running a fine line.

Milinkovic back in January if Vancover don't sign him.....

He's made 7 starts and 4 sub appearances and scored once. I doubt very much he'll be staying in Canada. If he's out of contract, he might as well come back and provide cover, it would allow Samuelsen to go out on loan.
