Probably finish up back at Burton Albion. If he wants to play for Oz he better find himself a club fast.It would be funny if we resigned him

Over the years, especially in the Premier League, we've brought in players that were doing well in their respective divisions, well enough that we decided they should come and play for us. Then, magically, they've been ****, our fans write them off and they leave with a cloud over their heads. But, by some miracle, they go to another club and they start doing well again. Granted, a few drop down to a lower level, but there are examples of players going on and rediscovering the form that led us to buy them in the first place.
Altidore, Proschwitz, Sagbo, Ince (did well in the Championship before and after, was a victim of Bruce's tactical switch to 3-5-2), Diomande, Elabdellaoui, Henriksen, Ramirez, Mbokani. All came here with decent pedigrees and records, all left with a big fat "they're ****" label on them. And that's just in recent seasons. Note that more than half the names on that list are strikers, too.
Sometimes, it just doesn't work out with some players, sometimes they don't settle, sometimes they get injured. But the ones I've listed above aren't bad players, not by any stretch and it just so happens that when they signed for us, they were crap, but they're now playing for other clubs that get more out of them.
No it wouldn't.It would be funny if we resigned him

If I can introduce a topic that doesn't involve Norwegians, have I missed any news about players going out on loans, or have we failed to get any promising young players out to gain experience elsewhere?
Thanks, hadn't thought of that. So we've managed to shift one youngster, who wasn't close to the first team. I don't understand what the thinking is, unless there just isn't any.Look at the first post.
You do understand the other team has to want to take our player? Thanks, hadn't thought of that. So we've managed to shift one youngster, who wasn't close to the first team. I don't understand what the thinking is, unless there just isn't any.

I would imagine a lot of league 1-2 clubs are watching every single penny and won’t want to contribute anything to any wages for players they don’t own .The move has got to be right for both parties. It’s also worth pointing out that because fans aren’t allowed in, it means scouts struggle to get around to watch players too.
We don’t just send players to other teams just because we’re bigger. We used to do that with Ferriby, but the level they are playing at makes it pointless.
Yes Joyce was Manchester United reserves manager for several years.Speaking of loans, didn't know which thread to ask this in, but can anyone remember the link to United that led us to having so many of their players on loan 2010-12? Was it Joyce or someone else?

I appreciate that, I was more wondering about why we're not looking for league experience for fringe youngsters like Jones C, Arthur, Ritson, Sheaf, Chadwick etc. We’re generally looking at non league for the players with no experience and they can go on loan outside the window.

Scouts are still allowed into the grounds to watch games, tightly controlled and only one ticket per scouting team, us for example are limiting it to 6 scouts per home game and have have used the exec boxes to keep the scouts distanced some games. They also have to be at the match an hour (ISH) before KO and go through temp screening and a few other bits before being allowed in
Oh I figured they weren't allowed in because they usually sit in the crowd. Are they still allowed in grounds where the lockdown is tier 3?

It was Joyce yeah, though he now has the same role at Salford. Not sure it would have the same impact.
I got that wrong then, but I'd only seen him in a sub appearance in the EFL Cup at Leeds and I thought he looked really impressive in a short time. Shows how much I know then.Ritson was released and plays for Whitby now.
