The reason why Thomas Sandgaard's take-over won't be announced today
A daily series, hopefully not as long-running as The Archers on Radio 4...
#1 11th September - The EFL have not declared their approval yet![]()

Yeah, but the nice thing about the tide is that it goes out but then it comes in again. I don't dare to hope but maybe tomorrow we can do a proper celebration. The reason why Thomas Sandgaard's take-over won't be announced today
#2 September 12th
#3 September 13th
It's the weekend. Guess the EFL don't work at the weekends.
I expect they play Golf or something.
Word is TS has said the take-over will be complete and Charlton will have new players in time for the West Ham Cup game (on Tuesday).
So that should mean an announcement tomorrow.
Last Monday evening a tsunami of rumours swept across the forums and social media.
Since then the tide has gone out rather a long way.
I notice that in your ticking clock the hour hand stays on the 3, so although time appears to be passing it is actually standing still. Exactly what our situation feels like.We are now facing multiple deadlines, some of them unknown to us...
Court case ... Thursday - but could go months into the future unless Elliott's case is totally thrown out.
Transfer window ... Closes on 5th October. 20 days away I think. Only cast-off free agents available if we miss it.
Administration ... Possibly at the end of November if Elliott is still preventing the TS take-over.
Expulsion from the EFL leagues ... unknown timing, depends on how well Elliott does in Court.
Sandgaard take-over completed ... supposedly just waiting on EFL, but really we don't know what is holding it up.
It seems to be pointing that way, with Elliot's lawyer failing to provide papers, which seems strange. Even if his case gets thrown out there's still the problem of the EFL though, so the single malt remains in the cupboard until the smoke rises.Well today’s the day apparently, is it going to happen?
I’d rather volunteer to do the housework than trawl on thereI'll wait till tonight to trawl through the 800 pages of zilch on CL.

EFL=Extremely f****** lackingSomeone just posted on CL that according to North London Addick (one of those ITK people) the court case is irrelevant to the takeover by Sandgaard, so no need to worry.
Given that I'd assumed along with many that the EFL were waiting for the court case to be resolved before allowing Sandgaard to be allowed to take over, this leaves me a bit rudderless. If not the court case, what the actual are the EFL waiting for? A Covid-19 vaccine? The US elections in november? By all accounts Sandgaard has provided proof of funds, which none of the other chancers managed. The transfer window slams shortly, which will bugger us, but still they keep schtumm, wih their usual transparency that allows no insight into why we are where we are.
