UPDATE: Thomas Sandgaard has now tweeted that it is approval from the EFL for him as a fit and proper owner (the OAD Test) which has not come yet. We previously thought it was EFL approval for his deal with Duchatelet to buy CAFC that had not come through yet. Sandgaard supposedly tweeted earlier this week that he HAD passed the OAD test. I think somebody in the rumour-mongering frenzy maybe misinterpreted his earlier tweet. Sandgaard has also tweeted that he won't be at the Crewe away game tomorrow. I don't have a problem with that. After all TS is not Charlton Athletic's owner yet. So he could only be there anyway as a VIP Guest of the Crewe Directors. Personally I'm not in favour of freebies for VIP's, whoever they are. Coronavirus should not be overridden by privilege due to fame, class or wealth.
The reason why Thomas Sandgaard's take-over won't be announced today #2 September 12th #3 September 13th It's the weekend. Guess the EFL don't work at the weekends. I expect they play Golf or something. Word is TS has said the take-over will be complete and Charlton will have new players in time for the West Ham Cup game (on Tuesday). So that should mean an announcement tomorrow. Last Monday evening a tsunami of rumours swept across the forums and social media. Since then the tide has gone out rather a long way.
Yeah, but the nice thing about the tide is that it goes out but then it comes in again. I don't dare to hope but maybe tomorrow we can do a proper celebration. (And thats when Sandgaard reveals he is really Thanos, clicks his fingers and Bowyer, the players and The Valley all disappear).
The reason why Thomas Sandgaard's take-over won't be announced today #4 September 14th No progress. Sandgaard has apparently flown back to the USA, and he won't be back until the deal is done. Don't hold your breath folks.
We are now facing multiple deadlines, some of them unknown to us... Court case ... Thursday - but could go months into the future unless Elliott's case is totally thrown out. Transfer window ... Closes on 5th October. 20 days away I think. Only cast-off free agents available if we miss it. Administration ... Possibly at the end of November if Elliott is still preventing the TS take-over. Expulsion from the EFL leagues ... unknown timing, depends on how well Elliott does in Court. Sandgaard take-over completed ... supposedly just waiting on EFL, but really we don't know what is holding it up.
I notice that in your ticking clock the hour hand stays on the 3, so although time appears to be passing it is actually standing still. Exactly what our situation feels like.
It seems to be pointing that way, with Elliot's lawyer failing to provide papers, which seems strange. Even if his case gets thrown out there's still the problem of the EFL though, so the single malt remains in the cupboard until the smoke rises.
Someone just posted on CL that according to North London Addick (one of those ITK people) the court case is irrelevant to the takeover by Sandgaard, so no need to worry. Given that I'd assumed along with many that the EFL were waiting for the court case to be resolved before allowing Sandgaard to be allowed to take over, this leaves me a bit rudderless. If not the court case, what the actual are the EFL waiting for? A Covid-19 vaccine? The US elections in november? By all accounts Sandgaard has provided proof of funds, which none of the other chancers managed. The transfer window slams shortly, which will bugger us, but still they keep schtumm, wih their usual transparency that allows no insight into why we are where we are.
I keep reading that TS is going to come riding to our rescue. I thought this injunction was because ESI2 and ESI1 are arguing over who owns the club and can subsequently sell it. Surely today’s court case means that the ownership issue will not be resolved until November, at the earliest. How is TS supposed to purchase the club if the owner is not confirmed
