Will be interesting to see what happens over the next couple of weeks as both infections and hospitalisations are up. There is some emerging evidence that treatment for Covid is having better outcomes, so hopefully the death rate won't follow. But as you say, we're on the cusp of flu season so services are going to be stretched anyway. I suppose though, that with less people in offices/ workplaces, along with practically everybody practising really stringent hygiene with hand washing, masks and santiser, we might not see the same levels of flu as previous years.
We are just coming out of the flu season here in Australia and it was pretty much a none event based on the protocols in place for covid-19

Yeah hopefully that’s how it pans out, but it’s the social distancing, hand washing, sanitising and mask wearing that’s massively lapsed imo. If they can get that back to where it was at the start of the reopening post lockdown, then I think we’ll be alright. As the transmission rate has only really risen notably in the last couple of weeks as people have slackened off. But the message needs to be strong and clear. This groups of people bollocks isn’t it. Stick to the basics and hammer it home.

Agreed. The messages have been inconsistent and baffling as to the logic behind some of them, which has the effect of (1) confusing people (2) eroding confidence (3) Some people just ****ing them straight off.

Masks, Social distancing and hand washing. Like you say, just keep it simple, strong and clear.

This is where it becomes (more) farcical. The original doctrine of 2 households was much simpler and realistic.

I'm not really seeing the problem with it if I'm honest. I was thinking about Nicola Sturgeon's chat on TV the other day, I've noticed when anything is going well, it's called Scotland, when anything is not going so well it becomes the UK.

We are clearly divided by 3 countries, Scotland and Wales often want to do there own thing, confusing to some maybe, but in my mind, I can count 6 people and know anything more is not allowed, unless it is exempt ie a larger family living in the same house.
How many are allowed on the Tube network ?
This is where it just seems absolutely stupid to me !

You’re missing the point. Let me spell it out for you; the Rule of 6 is just utter made up bollocks. It doesn’t apply in the workplace. It doesn’t even apply in pubs or restaurants, you can give 36 people in there, so long as it’s 6 groups of 6. But the government wants you to grass up your neighbours if Grandma and Grandad turn up to visit a family of 5.

You can have 20 on a bus. Currently no restrictions on the tube, but social distancing is encouraged. Not a huge problem because passenger numbers are way down. So are staffing levels, because Tfl still have 7000 people on furlough, and can’t afford to bring them back because of an 80% drop in fare revenue.

You must be a fake account to discredit the real conspiracy, which is how £8 billion of taxpayer money has already gone missing and Johnson has another £100 billion lined up.

If you watched the clip I put up with Channel 4 news back in 2010 u will see that you got me wrong

I'm not missing any point. You don't care either really, it's only because it's Boris it gains your attention. Unlike you I can grasp its no more than six, so it don't bother me, if other people want to break the rules, that's their problem not mine, I will keep away from them.

The rules are simple enough...6...people will always want to add various equations to it. I won't be grassing up anyone, no one forces you to, again it's a choice. I've no intention of going in a pub, you don't even drink, but you are crying.

The point you are missing is that the number 6 has been pulled out of someone’s arse, to make it look like the government hasn’t completely lost control.

Spend all day counting to 6 if it makes you feel better. It means nothing.

I'm not missing any point 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ,6 see I can count :)

Like I said you are crying not because of the rules, which you will look to pick holes in, but because you hate the Tories. You cried about pubs, you don't even go in a pub, well unless you buy a coke or go for a free refills coffee at Wetherspoons...nah thought not.

This I agree with in the sense that messages have been inconsistent, and I don't mean between Wales, Scotland and England, but in general. Give a message and stick by it. Masks should have been worn from the beginning. It was argued there was no science behind issuing that message, well there is no science that using cash gives someone the virus, but it was more or less implemented by every business at the earliest opportunity! Which is in contrast to another message that has been running that there is no evidence that covid can live on letters and parcels. Everybody wants to outdo everyone else with this information, that's the problem. As I said yesterday about Nicola Sturgeon, something good will be called 'Scotland' something wrong will suddenly come under the banner 'UK.' Every fooker is using this for political point scoring, much like Archers <whistle>
