They insisted under primary school aged children could not pass it on so school staff did not need masks etc.
    So has that changed?
    Genuine question btw.

Apparently so...any gatherings in public or at home over 6 people is now illegal (unless it is on the exempt list).
In Wales and Scotland kids under 12 are not counted ... just adults.

I'm not really seeing the problem with it if I'm honest. I was thinking about Nicola Sturgeon's chat on TV the other day, I've noticed when anything is going well, it's called Scotland, when anything is not going so well it becomes the UK.

We are clearly divided by 3 countries, Scotland and Wales often want to do there own thing, confusing to some maybe, but in my mind, I can count 6 people and know anything more is not allowed, unless it is exempt ie a larger family living in the same house.

TBF if you are going to bring in a rule it has to be for all, do these thick ****ers think people under 12 have a "junior virus" that can't affect adults?

A virus doesn't do junior and adult versions <laugh> <doh>

It was weird going to my doctors today, you can't get in without an appointment, when you have an appointment, you still can't get in until you've been approved - have you got a mask on, yes.....do you have a cough etc....no...ffs let me in <grr>

You walk in to the waiting room and it's like who's nicked all the fooking chairs <laugh> you only got a few now, military precision spaced out.

The issue with age matters massively...
If kids can pass it on then adults in primary schools and nurseries are at risk as there is no way you can keep away from the younger ones when teaching them how to read, tie laces, phonics etc.

Staff have been told by government that protective clothing in primary school is not needed as children do not transmit it. Many staff including teachers, cleaners, office staff etc are also around the 55-65 age bracket.

Like I said we have been told that primary aged children are not at risk from the illness and CAN NOT pass it on.

If they have now discovered they can then the risk to older or more vulnerable staff needs to be looked at in respect to clothing masks etc.

People are just going to ignore these rules anyway.

Dob in your neighbours from Patel was a great shout like. I can’t imagine that system being abused in any way whatsoever.

I am leading a really weird life, i have a new granddaughter who is now 6 months old and i haven't met her yet, my two older granddaughters i have seen twice over the front garden fence in the same timescale.
on the other hand i am visiting anything from 1 to 6 sites per day where **** all has changed, hi D do you want a brew, another might get an arm slung over the shoulder with the greeting "how are you my friend, we need you to get us going quickly there is a wagon due"
My life has not been impacted at all except in respect to family and the one's i miss/love most.

You also forgot that children under 12 don't need to wear a mask anywhere.

It's called making it up as you go along <ok>

The issue re 6 is bizarre because you and 9 mates can go to a pub in two groups of 5 , sit 2 metres apart in you groups and chat across the two tables and that is lawful.
But if you all went to a park , sat 2 metres apart, did not share anything and wear masks you could be fined.

I have no idea how they think the majority people will obey such contradictory rules tbh.

    Especially considering that;

    1. Lots of prominent Tory officials complained about people following the lockdown rules "too enthusiastically"

    2. How they let Cummings break those same rules.

This has clusterfuck written all over it.

What’s happened to all the commercial property developers / owners shouting about all the supposedly lazy home working ****ers to get back in the office and save their rent, in the last few days?

As I said last week. I don't think these rules are aimed at directly reducing thei
spread but are a means of re-engaging people around social distancing etc which I'm sure we'll all hidden drop off in the past month or so.

I hear what you and RCL are saying, but my view does differ slightly....

I'm not comfortable with kids wearing masks, and I'm not comfortable with the adults approaching them, wearing protective gear. I get all the arguments why they should, but we are inbuilding a sense of fear into our kids and they shouldn't have to even think about this shhite at their age.

My grandkid, was taught to generally keep away from people over this virus, but that also has a detriment affect that they become worried if someone comes near them!

We're teaching our kids unconsciously to be scared, and I don't like it.

It's an adult responsibility to deal with this, I would want to keep any aspects of the worry or the display of protective measures away or at the least to the minimum for our kids.

My grandchild even looks at me on the doorstep as though is it it ok to come in grandad....what are we doing to our children! Even fearful to give you a kiss, although I do generally discourage it, but in a less than obvious way, by making a hug the focal point of affection.

I am not a clinician or a scientist mate but can tell you what i know.
A virus does not differentiate by age, yes children are very unlikely to be harmed by it but can certainly pass it on. COVID is a respiratory virus, kids breath it in like adults do (plus contact contamination off objects), they also breath it out again like adults do. It doesn't mutate in a kids respiratory tract, it just sits there (like in an adult) and comes back out in the same form (same as contact transmission from hands etc)

Are kids in any danger from contact with others that have the virus, very little if they have no underlying problems. Are adults in danger of contracting the virus off infected kids, of course they are.
