Give me intense, vocal, competitive games vs Grimsby over sanitised, one sided, VAR controlled games vs ManUre any day.....

Don't be so sure. The last time we played at Harrogate, the Harrogate Massive keyed several cars in the car park, taking their time to make sure they were all belonging to City fans. Be warned.

I thought the League Cup Semi Final 2nd leg against MUFC in Jan 2017 was a great atmosphere with their fans non stop loud rendition of 'Something tells me I'm into something good'

And of course we won on the night despite having a depleted squad.

Had too many seasons of garbage against the bottom feeder clubs like Grimsby, Macclesfield, etc

Sadly it could be many years before we see a home crowd and atmosphere of that ilk ever again .

    Honest games with proper supporters....

Too many games over the last 12 seasons I have been surrounded by half and half scarves...

it's the league in which the team that I support will be playing this season. By definition it's the league in which I have most interest. The quality level is obviously lower than the PL or the Championship.

I sort of get where you're coming from, but I think it's a sad indictment of our current predicament that we have to play the likes of Grimsby and Harrogate again.

No team has a divine right to be anywhere, but for a little impetus on the owner's part, we wouldn't be in this league, or this competition.

Multiple reasons for that unfortunately, some City's fault, some just football in the 3rd millennium.

Started in May 2008 when Duffo courted the Kirkella Dollar over the loyal fans who had pushed the club up from Bootferry to Wembley.

Then that loyalty and supporting history counted for nowt as Toby and Jasmin's pushy parents barged in.

Frankly in retrospect some at the club got ideas above our station, and tried to distance us from our traditional local support in a vain bid to fit in at the top level.

It failed- we were never likely to be accepted into the charmed circle, which attracts so many ****s nationwide.

We need to be top of Championship/bottom of PL with a loyal and staunch 20,000 fan base and a club management who values them..

The 3rd tier is unacceptable failure on every level.

I agree, I spent a decade as a city fan watching us in the bottom two divisions, it was turgid at times. It was brilliant to see us not only playing in the Championship, but also being competitive. The PL was like a dream.

Just seems a shame it's all gone backwards.

Sort of thing I've heard glory hunting supporters say for far too long.
Funny thing is you think PL is competitive!?
I spent it cheering a point....!
Glad we got there, ended up hating the experience.... Emperors new clothes!

Aye, far more exciting watching Jackson Irvine, than it was was watching Geovanni.

Bowen's debut was a League Cup tie at Exeter.

The Championship is our level and if it wasn't for the fact we have such a ****e coach we would still be in it.
Nothing about League 1 is appealing.
