So you'd want the ,money back ? So your 'gift' would actually be a loan until it was paid back, interest or no interest ? Admit the club has been in better shape. I also think it is a bit pointless continuing this campaign against the owners because we are stuck with them until some else fancies a gamble with us. Simple as.
I'd say it wasn't a gift. Assuming you are referring to the £26m plus 'gift' cheque the Allams wrote out when they took over the club as your 'Xmas gift' ? Again, how many people do you know who hand out £26m cheques for a business they admittedly know nothing about and expect nothing back ? List them below please..........The gift was saving the club from administration. Or if football terms 'doing a Pompey'
Gift, and, twenty four hours, guaranteed to have everyone banging away on their keyboards. Hasn't it all been said before? Not least of all in the 900 pages and counting of the No New Owners thread. Yes, I am as guilty as the next for fuelling the debate. Like myself, everyone seems entrenched in their views not even a glimmer of conceding, yea fair point. I await the forensic analysis of both sets of accounts for the true figures. Ain't going to happen, is it?
If they sold the club today, for £15m (which they could easily), then they would walk a way with a profit, even after writing off the £40m debt they've left on the books.
I expected them to want their money back at some point, I just didn’t expect them to take interest at significantly higher rates than they could have got with any other form of investment though.
Well that is a silly thing to say to someone who's been going to games since he seven years old and only stopped when the Allams started with all their despicable ****, isn't it.
Regardless of what people believed about interest his ‘gift to the City’ schtick was to make himself look good, even if it was only to himself. Everyone would have been happy if he’d said ‘I’m going to buy the club to stop it going out of business, but I’m not a football person so I’ll hopefully sell it again and recoup my money at some point, or if not I’ll just take the interest I would have got in the bank and see where we get to’ As ever it’s the way they do everything, even good things, which pisses people off. Also the interest isn’t the main reason people want them out. However when you hate someone you’ll get pissed off by even the smallest **** they get up to.
Did you stop going when Fish and Co. wouldn't/couldn't even pay the electric bill and sold the club name plaque, even weighed in the crush barriers for the scrap value or when the Sheffield Mafia lived the life of Riley ( as did Bartlett/Duffen) on the back of the club credit card and left the club massively in debt ?
Back to the I'm a Super Fan theme i see . No wonder most stay away from posting! Enjoy Ps not aimed at you Kemps
As ever it’s the way they do everything, even good things, which pisses people off. A most perceptive observation. Sorry to keep harking back to CI days, many posts on there from the beginning of their tenure suggested they could do with retaining the services of a top notch PR firm. Papa's my way or the highway approach has brought all this on his own head.
How would people feel if we win this? When I first started going to City , it would have been the stuff of dreams and the thought of winning it seemed like the pinnacle of ambition . I don’t subscribe to the side of proper matches, etc , they used to be but it’s hard to get excited when you’ve dined at the top . You don’t celebrate pulling Pat Butcher once you’ve had Rachel Riley
