It was Ullovamans comment.I will never accept this is going to destroy the club, although I agree we don't know what the answer is at the moment!
I do feel the fans need to unite to be a part of the solution which is why things like the Amber Ribbon campaign make sense. If a supporter buy out as suggested by The Omega Man isn't possible, I do still wonder if we can collectively work to encourage a buyer or a consortium of buyers out of the woodwork. The Allams ownership over recent years has been disastrous but I don't subscribe to the belief that they will never sell until they have destroyed us.
I don't believe for one second it is their intention to destroy us.
It depends then on the definition / interpretation of the phrase 'destroy us'. You could say they have or are already doing just that - support decimated, the spirit across the city & region built up during the 2000's totally wrecked, a generation lost (seniors or young ins?!), virtually no value or quality left in the squad,..... etc.
Following Large Elephant's post, an interesting quote made by the (pre-expulsion) owner of Bury "While many would have walked away having unearthed the true position of the club, that's simply not my style," he said."But nor am I a never-ending ATM machine. Fiscal prudence and fans through the turnstiles are what will ultimately safeguard the future of our club."
We might claim to have fiscal prudence, that's highly debatable when there's still a £40 mill debt there being serviced and when multiple incomes streams are shrinking / being killed off by the week, but the rest of it has a familiar ring to it. Hmmn.
