If staying alert means stay at home, it sends the message that we don't need to be alert at home. Well not me! I won't let my guard down for a second - me and the missus are going to do alternating watches and I've just ordered a baseball bat and some night vision goggles off eBay. Stay alert people.
It's not a comfortable position for me to be in. I'm somewhat bewildered by the attitude to the virus in this country, though. Most people seem to be perfectly content to stay locked up until there's a vaccine, however long that may take. We've done the 'Protect The NHS' bit (in doing so, most likely causing thousands of non-Covid deaths) and I think we should be getting people back to work as soon as we can. More bewildering is that there is still a majority (48% to 36%) that thinks that the government has handled this thing well.
I think there is a blinkered 12% that think we've done better than every other country. There was a poll and 12% thought we'd handled this better than South Korea.
Apart from the nightingale hospitals I'm still yet to hear of any positive actions taken to help PREVENT this virus spreading and killing more people from our useless leaders.
That's why he's been hiding in a bunker in Pyongyang for the last month - because one in 8 brits disapprove of his leadership South of the border.

Most people say they support the restrictions but round my way they seem looser by the day, loads of people out and about, traffic levels shot up recently (where are they all going?), so every one who doesn’t explicitly want to be under house arrest seems to be having a party. I still don’t know what side of the fence I really sit on. Still wanting Sweden to get it right, but I think they had the leeway to try the much looser approach because they had much higher confidence in the capacity and resilience of their health system. Likewise with Germany. Clearly being completely unprepared and then dithering hasn’t helped us much, and we are likely to end up at the worse end of all measures, health and economic. Still, mustn’t grumble, chin up.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52589449 Interesting and lends weight to the theory that the virus has been over here since December.
Yet there were no more deaths than usual until well into March. How come it only became fatal once we had started to panic?
