They have already set up an inquiry (ongoing of course). this is natural. Re PPE shortage have a quick read of the WHO article I posted. Right wheres that remote!
Oi Oi, 21.7 this morning according to my doubtless inaccurate flashy scales. I go on body fat mate, though that would be too scary for many porkers. BMI is not a health indicator, but the vast majority of people with BMI 30+ will be carrying a lot of fat, and even if they have no diagnosed health issues their lungs will be working harder to carry weight that their skeleton wasn’t designed for. Not a proper survey, but are you seeing any trends/similarities in the people you are taking to hospital with suspected coronavirus?
Sadly other than random temperature checks, most are free to leave and jump on the tube. It is a farce. No wonder the UK number of deaths is increasing. There is no quarantine other than those overtly displaying symptoms. The Government should shut off international flights and in particular from Corona hotspots such as the US. We are inviting greater infection spread otherwise.
Well we are leaving more people at home than usual.....eg with increased RR, PR, low SATs etc that would normally warrant a trip to hospital. Its all about risk v reward and we have plenty of flow charts to look at who goes and who stays..... Obviously age is our main concern, anyone over 65 would be more likely to go in, as would RR over 30. Anyone with underlying conditions like COPD is also a big red flag.
I don't think too much of BMI. After all, a few years ago "it" stated that Johnny Wilkinson - who was England rugby international was obese......
I’m still finding it totally bizarre that I’m not allowed to go and sit down in the park on my own.......but I’m allowed to go for a run on the spot in the self same park while not on my own.
If you sit in the park sunbathing everyone else will see it and do the same. Suddenly you have loads more people about potentially spreading it. If you're walking or jogging you are moving along.
I’m running on the spot.....in an empty park. Not a soul about about other than me and the good old friendly bobby (standing 1 meter away)
Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? I don't get all this supposed confusion. It's pretty clear what we're being asked to do and not do. They don't want people hanging around hence being asked not to just sit somewhere. That video of the stupid woman taking the piss by wanting to sit on a bench for hours on end simply demonstrated what the authorities are up against with some morons. It can't be an exact science, but we all know what's expected of us eh?
Well yes it does matter Col. When law biding people who are being safe and keeping distance from others are being vilified by the ‘torch bearing mob’ for doing no more than going out of their dingy bedsits or one bedroom 15th floor flats and getting a bit of fresh air for 30 mins.......it matters. As i put in my original post.....what’s the difference in the two circumstances I mentioned ?
just found out that one of my friends has lost her mum to this disease. she was in her late 80's, and was in the same care home as her sister. Her sister has the signs of the illness but not her. Stay safe everyone and pray that there is a cure.
What's expected of us is to not put others in unnecessary danger, isn't it? I'm happy to abide by this, but I'm certainly not sticking to the 'rules', which are daft.
