Yes it is. Goals are being disallowed because someone out on the wing has his big toe forensically analysed to have been offside. The ball hitting the net doesn't mean a goal any more which is just sad. If you don't think that's ruining the game as a spectacle then I'd have to wonder what would qualify as ruining it for you. Maybe have a think about why you're so fiercely protective of what is just a technology. I've seen a lot of people like this who seem to be as loyal to VAR as they are to their club. I don't get it.
I read about that story last night, what the ****!? I like how it said he 'accidentally' shot her four times with a shotgun. Now, one time? Fair enough, could be an accident. Four? That's a hobby.
I remember a story about an opposition leader in one of those dodgy ex Soviet states ending in ...stan being found with 5 bullet holes in his head. The police said it was one of the saddest cases of suicide they had investigated.
We should have dial spinning round on sections saying Goal! and No Goal! and cards with Goal! written on them to hold up like they do in the HDM’s and Talksport’s favourite sport.
Spoils it for those at the game. But they don’t count nowadays. Maybe if they were more like rugby, especially union, where you can hear the referees and what is being discussed it would help improve things. Though it will never be the same as football has less opportunities to stop and do things like play advantage until play breaks down.
I've seen the opposite. Mate of mine is a Sheff Utd fan, and fiercely loyal to VAR for some reason. I think like many, he wanted it and now refuses to see how **** it is and feels he has to keep the same opinion. Anyway the other week when they had that ridiculous offside goal against Tottenham, he defended it. His partisan-ness towards VAR was actually stronger than that towards his club. Absolutely nuts.
Weird. I was absolutely for it, and while I do think it can be done well (like in Russia last year), what we have now is just a ****ing joke and I don't see a good version of it ever happening now. I hate Sheff Utd and love seeing things go against them, but damn that was an abhorrent decision.
Pep Guardiola - ”I’m sure they’ll give the Ballon d’Or to Messi at first, then they’ll check VAR and give it to Van Dijk.”
Peak VAR last night in Real Madrid v PSG game. Courtois brings down a player and gives away a penalty, gets sent off. Courtois walking off the pitch, VAR check, foul in the build up. Red card cancelled, pen cancelled and free kick awarded to Real Madrid. Whether it was right or wrong, VAR can **** off. Edit - worth adding that the referee saw the earlier foul in realtime and waved it away.
I concur VAR can **** off and then **** off some more. You wait until someone gets seriously injured in a passage of play that VAR then decides shouldn’t have happened because of an earlier offence.
Never a penalty for Valencia against Chelsea just now. VAR didn't agree. Rubbish decision using the "not a ref error" angle.
I hate VAR with a passion, but then again I'm a fat **** who can't get laid so I hate most things. Sexual frustration's a hell of a drug.
Just watching MOTD2, first of all Lesster fans chanting V.A.R in the hope they'll get a decision in their favour, and now Norwich fans doing the same. What utter ****s. Another nail in football's coffins when sad bastards demand help from some ****s hunched in a tv studio.
I have to say in the beginning I was in favour of bringing VAR in, but now we have seen it in action it is ruining what is left of the game as we know it. They either have to scrap it, or a the very least get their act together in how it is administered.
It was brought in to end controversy. Instead it causes controversy. How can keeping it be in any way justified?
