Knowing MacAnthony, as I do, I'd be amazed if he didn't snap our hands off for around £1 million. What we've got to be sure of, is can he make the step up to the Championship. Which is the question we should be asking of any of the potential signings in January.

I agree, look at how Wolves did it built a team that was strong enough for the next division rather than the one that they were in.

I don't know if we can spend due to FFP though, plus they said the investment was on the AOL, recruitment and infrastructure.

I think in terms of wages we'll be where we've been for some time, right on the edge of what's sustainable. I guess it'll be a case of one in one out like it was with Ross but the difference will be the ones in won't be cheap as chips or free.

Hopefully they've wasted no time getting the scouting network set up and we can get some talent in from abroad because the pool of possibilities is tiny here, if we don't get Maddison then who else?

Unsure mate as not a manager but there must be loads of untapped talent abroad that would jump at the chance to play for us. That is an avenue they should be looking down and hopefully they are/will be.

I haven't noticed many players from league one that have really caught my eye and would deffo improve us but maybe they are out there. Loads in the championship obviously but without being able to offer bumper wages I doubt they'd fancy it.

Got to be some great talent abroad if we can identify them in time and they tend to be happier with less wages depending on where they're playing. Wonder if Maja is available...

Last time I checked he was out of form and injured so no doubt we'll be all over him <laugh>

Ross wouldn't half be pissed off if we bought Maja for Parkinson and he started banging the goals in

There are only around half a dozen L1 games before the end of the year but we have 6 in January.

If we're intending to make signings/shift people out it needs sorting quickly ...

... deadline day signings would mean that we're looking at February before they get started.

I'd hope that we're already identifying targets and gritting our teeth to sign the cheques.

If we don't we could let another season slip by which would cost much more than a couple of decent players.
I hope you’re right but recent windows have seen us doing most of our business very late on. Can/should we be recalling Robson?

It doesn't seem to matter who's in charge...

We Always make an arse of the transfer window...

Hope PP has already identified what's lacking, then SD needs to act quickly and get the players signed up....

That's scary, 6 games until January....

We should have bit the bullet in the summer marra...

£2.5 mil = promotion...

I reckon could get him for much cheaper now though unless they offer him a brilliant contract if they are skint we could maybe get him for like 1m.

Or offer him a contract once his expires so its either to Peterborough have 1m or nothing and 1m is a hell of a lot in this league.

I got a feeling we may be looking in the loan market, I know Stirling from spurs is a bad example, but would a young, fast striker on loan be a good option?

Cant we get him to sign a pre contract deal ?
I think that's what it's called, when a player's in the last 6 months he can agree terms with another club ?

He would command a decent signing on fee to whoever wants him....

Unsure mate but you would have thought so, he wants to come we want him and hes out of contract in 6 month.

Would Peterborough rather keep him and get nothing or in January take 500k-1m even less maybe so they actually make some money.

I'm confident wage wise we could match them plus he's a lads fan.

Cannot see them selling Maddison. The difference in revenue is about 5m from League 1 to The Championship so they might as well take the gamble and keep him. That's what I would do if I were in their shoes
Believe he has a £2.5 Million buy out clause but strengthen us weaken Peterborough at the same time would need to be factored in .

Hall from Oxford looked ok the other night (First time i've seen him). His contract is up at the end of the season as well.

It narks me off the way clubs leave things till the last day. I have to say though that this manager will know his way about this league, will know who is who and will already know who he would like in.
Let’s hope he can get who he wants.
