    ‘But Rafa won’t CL’

Many years ago, despite totally ****ing his team and strategy and getting absolute pulverised.

Milan’s arrogance and Gerrards heart won that, in spite of Rafa completely shanking his approach <laugh>

That's exactly what you did, a few days ago, so don't come on squirming.

"Hey lads, come onto the Mackem board and see the comedy I'm having with Smug".

If you're going to shoot your mouth off at least have the balls to stand by it ffs <doh>

As it happens you didn't have any 'comedy' ...
... you made one comment which I shot down and you scurried back to your daft little pals.

That's exactly it. Rafa is more fashionable than Brucey. Its success by association to a 'name' rather than looking for true value.

He’s been there and done it though. Bruce hasn’t. They’ve managed at different levels though and I’d argue the clubs Bruce managed at are closer to us in terms of stature and expectation rather than Benitez. We are probably the worst club Rafa managed (except maybe his first club, was it osasuna?) whereas we’d probably be Bruce’s best club. He might be a good fit even if he isn’t the stature of Rafa. My opinion though and I could never pick Bruce over Rafa. Hope I’m wrong though!!

Like I've said in previous posts, him and us may well be the perfect fit and it could all be forgotten about very quickly (his appointment). I'm always prepared to give managers a chance and let football and the results do the talking. McLaren was woeful and asked for 10 games to be judged, he quickly moved the goalposts and we all saw how that ended up. In all honesty Bruce probably isn't that bad of an appointment and I don't think he's beneath us, he just wouldn't be my choice and I certainly don't think he's the best option for us to pursue.

We're in an awful place at the moment and it may well be that Bruce comes in and sorts things out for us. He is a local lad afterall and knows the club and the fanbase.

Rafa was never god for me mate. I liked the bloke and he did well for us with what he was given and sorted our defence right out which was much needed. His tactics at times were quite baffling for me and I got quite sick of things and his love for all players spanish etc. He's gone and we move on though.

Absolutely. He did great work at Valencia nearly 20 years ago. The CL freak glossed over the fact he got them nowhere near a title in reality. He must laugh himself to sleep every night.

Fair play to you 2 Mags for your reasoned responses, joking aside I think he will be solid, he will do what Rafa would have and keep you in the league, and he will try and play some football.

Rafa did nothing that Big Sam couldn't do and look how he was chased out.

Bruce isn't spectacular but they aren't really spectacular either.

    Is Rafa’s ‘stature’ deserved?

He did a solid job at Chelsea but there fans were ****ing fuming, as they knew he was nowhere near the calibre required.

He’s one of them the media suck off, but there’s simply no justification.

Not quite sure how you arrive at the conclusion that I scuttled back to my board asking for help from this like but if it makes you happy then I won't argue with you anymore, you're just a waste of my time and energy really. You've done nowt but direct insult after insult at me and I really can't be arsed responding to you anymore. The rest of the lads on here seem canny but you're just coming off as a bit of a twat now, jog on.

Pretending you'd never do that yourself just proves what a sad little hypocrite you are.

Ive already told you, I don't want you to respond and couldn't care less about your opinions.

And as for 'jog on' ....

.... dear me, does anyone still say that <doh>

He’s better than anything we’ve had for a very long time. A lot of his main achievements were a very long time ago but at least he has them. Regardless of how he got them. We aren’t Chelsea. We’re way below that. He was above us. Bruce is more our level but once you’ve tasted better, it leaves a bitter taste. I’m just gutted we’ve gone from Rafa to Bruce. No other club would do this. That why I am where I am with the club. A lot of bad decisions have been made and I can’t see where it will go. Except 26 points, relegation and being £50 lighter <laugh>. Thank god for cricket and formula 1!

Rafa was not in any way, shape or form ‘above you’.

It’s a crazy mentality that. He would not have been considered for a bigger club than Newcastle when you appointed him, as shown when he flirted with Everton and they effectively whistled and pretended they didn’t hear him.

My bookie's just paid me out for Bruce ...
... sadly I didn't believe it when I was told, a while back, and didn't put big money on it.

Still, it's enough winnings to pay for all this seasons games, unless we get to Wembley.

Perhaps I should stick a few quid on 'Bruce sacked by Christmas' <laugh>

Maybe it’s just my perspective but we were lucky to have him. Ah well better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. I’m all for moving on. I’ve slowly whittled down my attendance although it’s more to do with lifestyle rather than fat Mike. I doubt I’ll actually make any matches this year.

Like him or love him, he doesn't tend to stick around very long (Bruce) with the exception of his stints at Birmingham and Hull so he'll either be gone maybe by Christmas or this time next year (worst case) or he'll have done a stellar job and still be with us into 2020/2021 season.

This is of course assuming he takes over, there's too much smoke for there not to be any fire in my eyes so it looks nailed on to me. I won't let any decision that fat ****er makes stop me from supporting my team though....I wouldn't give him the satisfaction. It also sends out completely the wrong message to potential players/owners and future managers, something I think a lot of people overlook in their blind hatred for the fat man.

He hasn't got rich by being nice in my opinion he ain't gonna start now.
