Wonder if these will excite Cooper .... https://the72.co.uk/134822/swansea-...pLqC960txHwLPCAo8iMlp8ffP4vC46Hqh1upfVt0yFevI
I cannot deal with this laborious drawn out hunt for a couple of transfers, I'm off to Crete to drown my sorrows Greek style!!!.........................
Why do I need a link? The first part is obviously not true and just written in jest and for the second part, you guys are saying it yourselves. I think I read that last season that the swans gave more playing minutes to players U23 than any other championship club. A testament to your academy. I think you're being a bit precious bounder. You've got a youth coach, we've got a dinosaur. The same challenges, just from opposite ends of the spectrum. A couple months and we'll start to see who is more able to rise to the challenge. Let me just check how long since you posted. Don't want you to think I'm stalking you while you're lurking.
The club said they have had 60 applicants which i doubt but we do know they have had a few and the best we can do is employ a schoolboy coach with zero first team management experience and his only playing experience is in the league of wales...Now call me susceptible but is this a recipe for success or a recipe for disaster?...I know which is the obvious and the less risk. I wish the lad well but what a pathetic appointment for a club who wants to get back into the premiership....We are going to need a huge slice of luck to stay in the championship imv...
The aim of the Club right now is to stabilise and get the finances sorted out ,so yes it would be great if we went back up ( I'm no fan of the PL ) but the aim should be the long term survival of the Club. Regarding Coopers appointment and lack of playing experience, I didn't realise that was a prerequisite in becoming a successful manager , how many professional games did Hodgson, Gerard Houllier, Carlos Parreira , Arrigo Sacchi and our old boss Rodgers play , nil not one, and on the flip side great players don't always make good managers He hasn't taken a training session yet and he's been written off , come Xmas this year then we'll all have a better idea of which way we're heading , either way he'll get the plaudits or the boos
We could just as well employed a name we know and they could have failed., Poyet was one of the favourites and wouldn't want him near the club, I think this guys is a talented coach and maybe just maybe we have nailed this one, time will tell. lets not forget former players were involved in this selection. I am sure they know what a good manager is better than us, well I hope they do. good luck to the guy. hope he is a success.
I keep saying i hope he does ok, But your missing the point which if you go on other media sites are pointing out that it is a hell of a risk to take going from coaching kids to being boss of a second tier division team......It is a massive step up and something no other sensible team would ever consider.....If everything goes bad you will all be saying the same.....very very risky with no grounds to ever consider making such an appointment other than getting the cheapest option at the determination of trying to improve the clubs prospects......Experience is what we need and not schoolboy standards......
Dai, just look at the owners we have - everything has already gone bad. Like everyone I also hope this turns out to be a stroke of genius, but know that anything we achieve will be in spite of what the owners are doing.
Truth is nobody knows for sure how it will turn out. All managers are gambles. He could be gone by Christmas or he could be a revelation. He has an experienced assistant alongside him which will be a big plus, and together they’ve already done well for England and Liverpool. Let’s trust the selection trio on this one, that’s all we can do.
Dai...you have to recognise that the club cannot afford experience. Experience demands money for his/her own wages and something to bu players with. Your manager knows he has a young team to develop since all your experience has been/has to be sold to balance the books. Your Yanks are getting sod all out of this....but are also putting sod all in. It's a case of balance then go from there. The alternative is go for broke and succeed or sink into the nether regions if you are lucky. And if not, sink into oblivion.
