I'm willing to give him a chance , he has a decent record with the youth and Marsh is no slouch either so who knows what's going to happen ,but until we do he'll get my support , as long as he doesn't kiss the badge
Steve Cooper At the age of 27, Cooper became a UEFA Pro Licence holder. On 3 September 2008, after being head of youth development at Wrexham, he was appointed at Liverpool, initially taking charge of the under-12's. On 18 July 2011, he was named Academy manager. Whilst at Liverpool, Cooper oversaw the development of such players as Raheem Sterling, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Ben Woodburn. In 2013, Cooper joined the FA as a youth coach educator On 13 October 2014, Cooper was appointed as manager of the England national under-16 team. The following year, he took charge of the under-17s, coaching players such as Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden, and Callum Hudson-Odoi. Cooper led his side to the final of the 2017 UEFA European U17 Championship, where they lost to Spain 4–1 on penalties following a 2–2 draw. Cooper's U17s then won the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup in October 2017, beating Spain 5–2 in the final. Cooper likes his teams to play "attractive football" with a "clear identity" and "good organisation and structure". He prefers his teams to control the game, stating "It's about playing our way... we want to play with purpose, dominate possession, play forward and get the ball back as quick as we can. That's always our plan." Cooper coaches his teams to have "tactical discipline, composure, and aggression". He cites former Barcelona B coach José Segura as his main influence; the pair worked together at Liverpool's academy.
Good luck to him. He, and we, are going to need it this season I feel. Potts excelled last season and will be hard act to follow, now with a weaker squad. I'll be delighted if we're not relegated.
You been drinking today? I don’t want them Ayew’s anywhere near the team. Sick note Montero is a waste of a wage, when he’s on fire he’s unstoppable but that’s few a far between plus he spends most of his time out injured. Baston has never been given a chance so maybe we should hold onto him.
Well it is Friday . never mind me where you been ? hols again I suppose . Regarding the trio of doom (Ayews and Baston) same here but I've always liked Montero and prior to January James was a bit part player with Montero the one we were chanting to come on .Baston would n't know how to get here so he's no great loss . We're no longer in a position to buy so called "named" players and that's why I think Cooper will do ok ,he knows his way around the youth system and will be aware of the developing players who maybe available on loan, which is a cheap option and could be our best bet whilst Birch is sorting the rest of the finances
Cooper does realise he's signed up for the top job, not the U23s does he? Saying that, come the first Saturday of the season, they are likely to be one and the same.
