We definitely got a good deal because thanks to the compensation system we got a fee for a player who wasn't under contract. If we'd signed him up he might have gone for a bigger fee eventually but who knows.

We offered him a pro contract twice.
A similar deal I expect to Bowen who was more than happy to take it and his chance.
Did he play that much first team football?
He was a fool, I said it at the time, him and his family had their heads turned by a greasy agent with promises of Liverpool.
Went too far down a road and ended up at stoke.
If Fleming or McKenzie gets in the same situation I'd advise them to stay here, at a club they know well with a good support network around them, which is crucial for a young man.

I can't remember if that was reported but it wasn't the case.

Ehab thought he was under contract because he was still on a scholarship deal. The club even announced that they were renewing his scholarship so he'd be staying. Then he left to go sign a pro deal.
 
Unless someone has concrete proof, it's hard to know.

Yes, but then he started banging in goals last season and we immediately offered him far better terms.

Adkins suggested that Clark should accept the poor terms offered, as if he did as well as Bowen, he'd get better terms, which is a fairly unconvincing way of getting a player to stay (not that I was arsed about him leaving).

From what I've read, I think it's entirely plausible that Tymon got a decent deal offered that was representative of his ability (see last season and a half).

I come from Hull and support Hull City. I'd have signed for us on such 'poor terms' but maybe that's me and maybe Tymon isn't a City fan?

I knew he was going well before. It's all old ground.
Stratford wined and dined the family filled them full f bullshit. Saw the greed in their eyes and knew he had him.

Well as you know the full details best tell me what the deal was he was offered.

The deal he got at Stoke was apparently worth £15m over five years, realistically, how many of our youth players would turn that down?

So unless my maths is shocking that 15m over 5yrs is 3m a year and then 57,692k a week. Do you honestly believe that he was offered that?

Obvs some will be singing on fee etc but still In the basic form it's almost 58k a week... I don't believe that for a second
