I would have been hoping for somewhere between £5-10 million. In the past we'd have probably accepted Brighton's first offer.

Cause people can see the mark up on **** players. It's not Roket science. 12m for Afobe(That's the real perspective) is about 7m to much in a world without current inflation. We can ignore it and not charge that inflation. But we look like complete incompetent dickheads to everybody else as they rob the teams with money blind and laugh like ****.

This all started when we allowed Brighton to set his value for us(soft as ****)

This is weak, it's Ellis Short level of weak. It's sad to see the low standards the man has installed in our fan base too cause imo a massive section of us have become soft as ****. Too long accepting what we shouldn't, too long bending over and taking it off everyone and everything. Long way from recovering our identity if this is the Sunderland of the future.

5m is joke. Oh well, back to the shame and feeling embarrassed by our club.

He's had one very serious freak injury which he's returned from without recurrence, he did his thigh on return in which he missed a couple of extra games, big whoop, that's it. He's fine. If people actually checked his injury record rather than just deciding he's a crock based on a single injury they'd see he not remotely injury prone and never has been.

Feel proper let down after all the promises, all the pledges of toughening up. It's ****ing depressing. We're letting over people value our players ffs. After proclaiming we won't let players go unless they meet our valuation. Nowt seems to have changed. :(

    Bollocks

Wolves are in a compleatly different situation to us. They are a premiership team and Afobe was part of a championship winning squad. If we had managed to stay in the championship then we could have held out for more.

Reality is that we are in league one. We need to be pragmatic. Mcnair wanted out.

With the losses we are going to incur on some outgoings, we needed this one to be profitable
We will be hearing that Man Utd have a sell on clause next

The least I expected was a bidding war between Boro and Brighton

I hope this low price facilitates Leadbitter coming here on a free

Never said he was injury prone. But because of his injury he isn't a proven performer.

But look at the fees going for absolute dog **** players, that’s what we are comparing against mate.

The money in the English game is huge, £5million is a pittance, regardless of our league standing.

It’s a terrible sale at that price, did he want to go? He never asked to leave? Did we need to sell? Probably.

We sell at the right price though and we have fixed an issue not just delayed it. Does £5million help the club for more than 6 weeks? Doubtful.

Alright then, Will Hughes, situation virtually identical to McNair. Same injury and everything, both touted as wonder kids coming through the system, he went for 8m 12 months ago on last years inflation.

Doesn't matter what league we're in. That's just another soft excuse from soft fans looking for another reason why we should have less. We've told the world we don't need to sell, that renders what league we're playing in utterly irrelevent cause we not desperate.

A few previous League One sales, remember Paddy is 23 with 20 caps...

    Assombalonga to Forest £6.9 million
    Delph to Villa £9.5million
    Lookman to Everton £8.5million
    Nick Powell to United £7million
    Gayle to Palace £5.8 million.

But that seems to be the consensus. Every negative person and his dog is using it to devalue our own player <doh>

I honestly don't know why people are so unwilling to factor inflation, should see it on twitter. It's like we want to get as little as possible. Folk are looking everything possible to devalue him yet won't acknowlage the things which add value. Soft as **** mate.

Average players are north of £10million mate, good ones go for £30million.

This Norwich winger going to Leicester for £24million after one season, and Paddy is £5million?

Not in a million years mate.

Villa, paying too much for players last few seasons now they're screwed.

Everton and United always going to pay more.

I said excess of 5 million up front with add ons and sell on clause to a championship club is alright. Its acceptable with regards to our situation.
I would have been happier with 6+ million. 7 million would have been exceptional. But 10 million no ****ing way we would have got that.

I had originally hoped for about 5m before Bri and others persuaded me to expect a bit more.

I'm not too worried. I'm seeing anyone who leaves for any price as part of our clean slate.

I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, the noises he's making or the money he's earning. The deal could make sense for reasons unknown to us at this point. Roker report's podcast will be interesting this week.

The deal could prove to be a bad one or a good one. In truth I'm more concerned with recruitment over getting top dollar for departures. These new owners will make mistakes and learn as they go along. Think there's still plenty to be encouraged by at this point.

But we could and should have mate. We need to be saying ‘that’s the price, you ****ing pay it’

We’ve bought high and sold low for year and that’s what landed us the debt to Short.

We can’t justify it by ‘Villa spend badly’ or ‘they’d pay more’. He was an asset and we have precious few, the owners are not wealthy enough to take us all the way they need to absolutely rinse every penny out of every deal.

It’s **** business, we’ll see what’s said on RR in week.

Do you know what I think will **** us over big time? Fans getting negative, depressed and on our new owners back at the slightest reason.

We dont know the details and dont know the reasons why the deal was accepted.

Instead of crying every time the new owners do something I don't like, I'm going to enjoy the fact that they are at least being open and transparent about it. Cos there is no way in hell that we are always going to agree with their decisions.

I'm crying at our own fans crying on, not our owner. Every excuse in the book to put our own players down so we get less. It's ****ing embarrassing and **** message to send to our owners imo.

We've been liberated and we go on like we're still under Short's shaddow. Neggatives are first thing put forward, never the positives.
