It's already being discussed on the transfer thread but thought I'd give it's own give what I personally beleive is one of our most important players. So for those not following the other thread.

Sounds like he's got his price, I hope his injury record is enough to put people of meeting it. Bet there's some who'd like to see him go for decent money which is valid given his injury history. Personally, If he can keep himself fit that's our captain back to the premier league.

Think its fair to say that every player has a price, as long as a bid matches what the new owners think hes worth and we can invest that wisely then selling doesnt bother me. I feel like we're no longer gonna be rolled over by other clubs, or teams low balling us thinking 'They'll take any money they can get'

    He'll definitely be going.

Just a case of getting the best price.

Time will tell. If the player is willing he could become a legend here, and that might appeal, but it's a tough decision for the lad. I wish him all the best whatever - he did his best to keep us up, and it's a shame that a few others did not follow his example.

It'd be great if we could keep our best players and build a team around them, not impossible to imagine if they've bought into the excitement of the new ownership and want to be part of it. McNair would be one of them.

I would like to see us hang on to all, or as many of our young guns as possible, and build a team around them. This would, I am sure, be what SD and CM want too if they are as good as their word. I can see it not only as a possibility, but I genuinely think that it will happen, come what may. Onwards and upwards.

Could be seen as a bad start to the new set up if we get rid of arguably our best player for a couple million.

Unless ofcourse he asks to leave.

    I really hope he stays.

Won't be selling any players until Ross has had chance to assess the squad imo.

Unless silly money is offered for him.

New beginnings so....tell them to go and f*ck themselves. Gone are the days of giving players away for nothing (Vito & Kaboul). I know every player has a price but two million really? Tell them we will start talking at 10 million. Young British lad so they are going to have to pay. If they don't we will gladly keep him. They can have Rodwell for two million...that's a deal.

If they keep coming back, I'd counter offer by saying they can have Cattermole and a couple of packets of Panini World Cup stickers (to sweeten the deal) if they leave Paddy alone.

If they come back with £5m we should sell and allocate that to Jack Ross.

We are well covered in centre mid but need defenders and strikers desperately and quick

My concern is that if we start selling members of that key group of young players, of which McNair is part, we will be forced to fall back on the same old faces who have been part of the downfall of the club.

Paddy McNair has to be the on field face of the revival imo.

Make him skipper and build the team around him.

He’s one of the only positives to come out of last season.
