IF we have a new manager in for Saturday, I really believe we have the team to win at WBA, and have enough to stay up! I can't see Koeman coming back, but Silva would be my choice.
At this point I honestly believe we'd be better off with no manager than this one. Just pick 11 names out of a hat each week. It seems to be what Pellenono is doing anyway.
I rekon Silva or Koeman I am thinking they might sack him at the weekend. Unless of course we were to win but i really cant see us winning
1 win would not change things for me. See my above post, 16% win rate. I think we will be relegated if he stays would rather see U23 coach take charge.
Out. We keep making the same mistakes. We play well, take a lead and then, rather than continuing in the same vein, we go all defensive. If this was one or two games, you might write it off as a mistake, but when it keeps happening, you've got to question why the manager hasn't done anything about it.
Nobody PM'd me to say we had to vote again if we changed our minds. Start a new poll if you want an up to date view.
Yeah you can't take nothing from this now. I think if there was a fresh one the only 'in' would be @pompeymeowth
I know! The poll is out of date and useless. In my view (and I think FLT said the same several pages back) the poll was for when this thread started so why change it and pretend I didn't vote that way? My view has changed, as I said it might when I voted, but unless we replace him same day (or near enough) I really don't see the point in sacking him. We can't drift with no manager like Everton did and as nice a guy as I'm sure Kelvin is, I do not think he is up to being manager even temporarily. He never comes across that way. This board have proved themselves too slow at reacting and the players don't seem to be able to think for themselves (incredibly) so we seem to be stuffed. I'm not suggesting the players rebel by the way just that when they are on the pitch and things are going wrong they don't seem to have the gumption to work out what to do. No leaders perhaps.
I think there are two ways of looking at this thread. We all voted at the time, and assumed that the decision would be taken at near enough that week if it were to happen. So it is clear that sacking gave enough time for a replacement to have a transfer window and reinvest. The club chose to keep with Pellegrino, but failed to invest significantly enough for, in my opinion, us to stay up under his management. With this group of players, under this manager we are heading one way, and that is down. Many, including Pellegrino himself have commented that we ‘are only 2 wins from midtable’, but the reality is we won’t win two games - and certainly not in succession. Is time against us? Yes. Is it more difficult now that the window has closed? Yes. But are there better managers than Pellegrino out there and available that we could attract (I.e Silva), even if it is short term? Yes. I know what I would do still.
I agree but can we rely on the board to seamlessly go from Pellegrino to Silva? If so, then get on with it Les however I have my doubts they will act that quickly in which case it will probably be too late. Not a massive fan of Silva, as I think he will be off as soon as someone bats their eyelids at him, but when he is focused he seems to do a good job. Needs must.
