Off Topic Hull: City of Culture

It was most likely a brain-dead chav who white-washed it, but a second guess - I wouldn't put it past the council...

My mate went down there and said they were pushing people back away from it, as the council were worried about health & safety near the bridge.
Add to the fact Cllr Geraghty said it wasn't his cup of tea and he had no idea what to do with it, along with Cllr Abbott stating it should be 'cleared off'.

Probably not, but shows how out-of-touch local councillors are - the dinosaurs need removing from power.

If anyone is popping down to see the Banksy, there's another one round the corner that's worth a look (Lockwood Street)...

If you do - make sure you pop into Emmaus opposite for a coffee. They do great things for people that are formerly homeless, looking to get back to a normal life.

Thats inverted snobbery too, the 'faux effusive reverie' like Banksy so working class blokes from Hull shouldn't? Banksy is satire, some of the best English satire originates from Oxford & Cambridge (Python/footlights etc) enjoyed by all.

I think there is an element of The Emperor's New Clothes in all this.

It's Philistine v Aesthete.

Man the barricades !

Phlegm from Sheffield is well-known street artist, as is Pinky from Hull.

Pinky did the Strawberry mural on Humber Street - it's had a giant staircase put infront of it, covering it up - sadly nobody cared as much about that.

This lad Sona from Hull seems to be up and coming.

Wouldn't let me post the image for some reason...

Yes, but it was cleaned last night and it's now having a protective cover put over it to stop it being damaged further.

Phew! That should do the trick

Just like it did for the bricks on the Beverley Gate relic at the of the top of Whitefriargate that is currently used for skateboard practice by many youngsters.

If you mean this, the staircase was there when it was done, wasn't it?
