Who needs a Banksy when we have A Dead Bod to show why Hull is a City of Culture?

Maybe I'm missing something about Banksy, but I'm much more bothered about Dead Bod personally. I still haven't seen any reason why it's such a good thing to have one.

This guy turns up and forces his art on places with this sarcastic, patronising tone. And we're meant to be really grateful?

If you don't like it, just ignore it, there's plenty of others who like his art, hence why he's the most famous and collectable street artist in the world.

I personally think the whole Banksy ‘movement’, if you like, is stomach churning. A load of sycophantic middle class ****s fawn over everything he does yet if another street artist had literally painted EXACTLY the same thing on their wall they’d be appalled and would dash to clean it off the moment they saw it.

I like his work, but I like lots of street artists’ work and they should be treated with the same respect. You can’t love art because of who does it.

A thought provoking piece of graffiti (art) is, it seems, something that can’t be discussed, on here.

An innocuous comment on the relevance of the artist to Hull, leads to the poster being told to ‘just ignore it’.

Isn’t the point of these threads to discuss things and explore ideas and thoughts?
