The odd thing about the ground is give the colours of the team are yellow and black the majority of of the seats are in Black and White the colours of the rugby league club Hull FC who share the ground with them. Rugby obviously takes priority in this past of Yorkshire

City gave a Jekyll and Hide performance being inept as Boro raced into a two goal lead before being handed a lifeline when Johnson was sent off for Boro for trying to disembowel a Hull player, after that it was the Jarrod Bowen show only surprise was they didn't go onto win the game.

A last minute Louis Moult goal gave us a probably undeserved point after if memory serves right Bowen scored from the spot. We were helped by a sniper taking out the keeper as shown in the picture.
The season before we won in the last minute when Robison bagged from a cross by Horgan who was described on on Hull forum as a ringer for the dwarf from the Game of Thrones.

    TRANSFERS IN

Spent £400,000 on George Honeyman from Sunderland may have been fees paid for De Silva Lopes from Wigan the rest have been frees Magennis and Eaves amongst them.

Jarrod Bowen think he has scored every time he has played us, top player this lad.

Back on the road on Wednesday night to the East of Yorkshire to one time City of Culture Hull, it will be dark when we get there and it will be dark when we leave so either way it's a win win.
As for the match saw these lads play at Fulham were they obliterated the home side 3-0 as good as an away performance as you will see although watching them on the box yesterday against Boro they were the complete opposite until the sending off.
Already mentioned Bowen, they also have Grosicki another dangerous player on his day also rate Jackson Irvine in midfield, at the back they have two giant centre backs so hopefully we won't be lumping it long like we did on Saturday.
Suspect changes for us wouldn't be surprised if Davies out however Storey filled in admirably on Saturday.
The referee is John Moss so expect cards a plenty.

As I said it will be dark when we get there but this thing will be lit up

They also have cream phone boxes and it's residents never receive yellow pages directories they are cream as well. As a matter of interest there is a yellow phone box in Whittle le Woods it now has one of those resucitation machines in it.

Preston North End’s trip to face Hull City on Wednesday night will see an experienced Premier League official take charge of the game.

Select Group One referee Jonathan Moss has been appointed for the clash between the Lilywhites and Grant McCann’s Tigers at the KCOM Stadium.

The West Yorkshire official is in his 15th year on the professional lists and has spent much of the last decade looking after some of the biggest games in the country, including the 2015 FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Aston Villa.

All his games until this point of the season have been Premier League games, including trips to Old Trafford – last time out against Brighton & Hove Albion – The Emirates, the Etihad and the Kind Power Stadium. In the ten games officiated he has issued 38 cautions and two red cards.
His first game in charge of PNE came way back in January 2006, when goals from Patrick Agyemang and Claude Davis were enough to give them a home win over Millwall in a season that saw them reach the Championship Play-Offs.
Since then he has visited Deepdale five more times, including home wins over Ipswich Town and Wolves, as well as a draw with Bury in the Graham Westley era, when Chucks Aneke, on loan from Arsenal scored the goal in a 1-1 match.

His last PNE game was back in March 2014, when we lost an FA Cup fourth round reply to Billy Davies’ Nottingham Forest. The only game he has officiated the Lilywhites on the road, was also in a cup competition when we lost 2-1 in the 90th minute to local rivals Wigan Athletic in September 2010, Charles N’Zogbia grabbing the third round place for the Latics.

The referee’s first trip to the KCOM Stadium was also back in 2006, a 1-1 draw with Norwich City in February of that year and since then, he has visited Humberside on a further seven occasions, the last of which being a 2-1 home win over Manchester United in the League Cup in January 2017, as well as games at the Etihad (twice), Chelsea, Leicester and Spurs, amongst others.

This Wednesday he will be assisted by Mark Perry and Edward Smart, whilst the fourth official will be EFL referee Seb Stockbridge.

Tough match this one. Need to play some football this time. Thanks for the info about the resus machine in Whittle-le-Woods. Next time I drive through there I can rest assured should I have a MI. In Downham, there is one outside the Methodist hall, but who has the key? It must be locked in case the local youths use it as a taser!

Hull City 4 Bowen 2 Magennis pen Grosicki Preston North Rnd 0

    Hull City line-up:
Long, Lichaj, De Wijs, Burke, Batty, Grosicki (Lewis-Potter, 78), Bowler (Honeyman, 71), Bowen, Elder, Magennis (Eaves, 78), Irvine. Subs not used: Ingram, Tafazoli, Stewart, , Pennington.

PNE line-up: Rudd, Pearson, Johnson, Gallagher, Storey, Rafferty, Ledson (Harrop, 58), Bauer, Maguire (Potts, 81), Barkhuizen, Bodin (Nugent, 67). Subs not used: Hudson, Bayliss, Stockley, Huntington.

    Attendance: 9,826.

    Referee: Mr J. Moss.

The only saving grace last night it was only four, City could quite easily have doubled their score, there were some excuses to be made given we had only one fit full back, therefore the unfortunate Ryan Ledson was up against the Polish flying machine, to say Hull had some joy down their left flank was an understatement although to be fair to Ledson Bodin didn't help him either by tracking back.
We started well Rafu(Rafferty) hit a post and Barkhuizen the fastest thing on two legs was causing the home defence, however this superioity didn't last long, Ledson lack of expertise in the full back position was soon exposed and wave of City attacks came down the flank, it was a surprise that we managed to last out until the 30th minute,
The opener did have a little bit of fortune, Grosicki for the umpteenth time advanced on goal his cross hit Rafferty in the gonads, the rebound wrong footed Rudd and Bowen managed to adjust his feet and he scored just as the ball was about to go out of play.
Grosicki fired one narrowly wide and Magennis had an over head effort well saved by Rudd, who hit had to be said kept us in the game.A Bowen shot was semi saved and luckily for us the ball stopped rolling as it was going in beffore whacked to safety.

We could have been level having an effort cleared from the line and getting to the break one down was probably a good achievement.
The start of the second half summed up our evening a golden chance to level at the start, Bodin fresh aired a shot from the edge of the box and within 20 seconds Ledson now at left back had brought down a City forwrd penalty, Magennis did the rest although Rudd did go the right way. Ledson exposed again two minutes later ball flicked through to Grosicki 3-0 game over.

Affter that it was shot after shot at our goal luckily none went in, our attacks were infrequent and following one aimless punt forward, the guy a couple of rows in front of me yelled out, "There's no one there" and he was bob on with that.
A fourth goal arrived down the right wing were our top scorer Johnson was now playing left back, Bowen advanced on goal and fired past Rudd at his near post put it down to poor postioning, They had chances to increase that missed them all whilst we hit the post through Harrop with Barkhizen having te follow up saved by Long.

First time I've ever lost there the game reminded me of Birmingham away last season a night to forget although for the first time since the early 1960's did cross the Boothferry Bridge on the way home the joys of Motorway closures
Hull City boss Grant McCann told BBC Radio Humberside:

It's probably our most compete performance of the season. We've had games where seven or eight of the team has performed and we've won.

Tonight, one to 11 every single one of them were outstanding. We were probably hurting a little bit from the first half showing at Middlesbrough.

We took that into tonight and started well on the front foot. We were disappointed that we didn't come in with at least a two-nil lead.

Preston North End manager Alex Neil:

"To start with, we had players playing out of position. We have got one fit full-back at the club. We are missing a left-sided centre-back and, naturally, the defence is weakened because of that.

"It was one of them ones where we came up against a team where their best players are their wide players and all my full-backs are missing, so I knew it was going to be difficult.

"Their forward players we struggled to deal with and I thought they were ruthless when they got into good positions."

A poor game for NE, but well played to Hull City. Hull have accomplished strikers and without most of NE's defence it was always going to be an up hill task. PNE seem to have a decent sized squad but at crucial times the best players get crocked. However, with hope, the injuries are not too great and a cohesive team takes the pitch against the Baggies on Monday. Both Harrop and Bodin need match time, though, according to BBC, Harrop did make some difference when he came on.
