A fully fit Hernandez would probably get us the goals to keep us up.

Will Keane - Cruciate ligament injury (knee) - In the squad for Sunderland.
Ondrej Mazuch - Hamstring injury - In the squad for Sunderland.
Kamil Grosicki - Borderline, could be in the squad for Sunderland.

Stephen Kingsley - Groin surgery - Back in training, due back late January.
Abel Hernandez - Achilles Injury - Should be available late February.
Moses Odubajo - Dislocated kneecap - Planned return to play for the U23's in February.

James Weir - Knee Injury - Likely to be out for the rest of the season.
Ryan Mason - Skull fracture - CT Scan in January, still hoping to be back this season.

That list seems to be getting shorter, we haven’t had any new injuries for a bit have we? Wonder if that is Nige’s influence?

It's looking positive on the injury front thanks for the update.

The 3 are most welcomed back for Saturday. Good additions to have available again.

But it's the other 3, along with Mason, that are potentially the real game changers. 2 proper full backs and a quality striker (at this level). But it's probably too much to expect them to have much impact on this season. We should have had a couple of clever quality signings this January; doesn't look like it will be happening. As it is, I expect us to scrape survival .... so long as we don't now lose a couple more key players (which is a clear possibility).

I'm also hoping we might get surprised by Keane and he can hold up play for us to bring into play the likes of Grosicki, Bowen and Toral.
I think he's around 6ft 3 (probably wrong)

Who is a key player? I can’t think of any one of our regular starters from recent weeks who we would miss desperately if they got injured this weekend.

Maybe Toral? You would have said Bowen for his goals but they’ve dried up.

Larsson? Player of the season so far in my opinion.

I agree I wasn’t. I referred to his performance in the PL and I made that very clear. I also thought we needed someone better to drive the midfield, I still do. He has done okay and I won’t denigrate that for a cheap point - I’m pleased he is able to enjoy his season.

I thought his mojo had left him in respect of dead balls - I’m far from convinced it hasn’t. I thought that in a decent midfield he might be the weakness- we haven’t got a decent midfield and I’m can’t qualify my opinion because of that.

In the land of the blind the one-eyed man is King - not you, GLP, but perhaps Larsson, in a decent team and a much better Championship (which we have experienced) would not stand up to scrutiny.

I have never made comment on this for many months, as I appreciate that every dog has it daub- even old dogs learning nearly new tricks. :emoticon-0100-smile
 
I had my doubts about him. His early performances weren't brilliant.i even laughed as he took a free kick just before he scored.hes proved me wrong and well done to him.

I said starters in recent weeks, so that rules out Grosicki. Mcgregor has been PotY for me but I fully expect him to leave in the summer and Marshall to be excellent next season. Already covered Dawson.

Larsson is the one single player who might be missed in my eyes but not desperately, and that was my entire point.
