What even is his injury? He went off after getting that elbow to the head against Brentford but that's weeks ago now.
meyler will come back just as nige has us win a game and then everyone will froth at the mouth about meylers win ratio
It's already 100% with Meyler and 0 wins without him since Nige took over. But it's no coincidence. The team lacks Meyler types at the moment. He did an excellent job in that Brentford win of keeping us on the front foot by winning the ball back, picking up scraps and restarting attacks. In an ideal world him and Larsson would play every game in the middle for me.
Just listened back to RH Sports Talk with Chris Cooper and Burnsey, and 2 interesting things Chris said. 1. Usually clubs in the top 2 divisions have insurance to cover long term injuries. 2. Doesn't apply today because of betting rules, but 20 odd years ago, some clubs used to place bets at bookies to cover them getting promotion and thereby covering bonus they would have to pay to players. Source, passed secretary of a football club. I thought it was interesting that the likes of Moses, Will and Ryan at least would probably have their wages covered by the club, and possibly Abel.
Interesting And as for number 2, clubs maybe won’t lay a bet at the bookies in case they go up, but they can still lay that bet with an insurer in a similar way I used to get involved in fundraising and you can insure against all sorts of stuff, like the risk of a huge prize being won against all the odds
#1 has been done to death on here #2 this only refers to Championship team being promoted ("top two") so TV monies might just ease the pain of bonuses due... ...would a club also take insurance? Doubtful, methinks, but...
Good to see a gradual improvement in the injury situation which must be welcome bonus for the new manager.
It’s not an excuse but you have to feel for our managers - which other club has lost its record signing for the whole season, it’s second most expensive signing for 90% of the season, plus arguably its best player for 2 whole seasons? Of course the flip side is if they had been fit then no doubt all 3 would’ve been sold...
Hernandez due back in full training before the end of this month... http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/spor...ws/abel-hernandez-motivated-world-cup-1069381
Positive. Nobody will pay for a player coming back from long term injury when he’s free in June so we’ve got a highly motivated striker on our hands. Surely he won’t make the squad though after just 3 months of football at a lower level.
If sluts was still in charge we'd have created enough for him to be the leagues top scorer in 3 months without a doubt.
