If they wanted to do something for the homeless/professional beggers/people looking for their next hit anyway then why not get a snapper to promote what you are doing, and maybe encourage others to do the same.
The planners will have far better images of the planned hotel than the one Young has tweeted. They'll also, as ever, have to balance allowing a building many may not like, or turn it down thus perhaps ensuring this eyesore of a site remains so for yet more years. It's also interesting to see on the image that the ground floor has a Tesco store included.

It’s design that’s the problem... submitting a million abstract angles & nice visions will still make it a dog ****e design.

To make myself clearer the images the planner receive will probably be colourised, if the panels and exterior have any colour to them. It may be a poor design, but no worse than the Ibis hotel just a couple of hundred yards away from it. For this reason, and the jobs it'll bring, I'd expect it to get the go-ahead.

As for the hotel it's no worse than the Hilton on Ferensway, bland or plain.

Looks like they've not had time to take the Christmas decorations down though!
The venue looks good, but the car park looks cheap in comparison to the renders.
I just think more people are shopping online. I have to be honest and say I think as a family we did all of our shopping online this year.

I think you're probably right but it's a crying shame. It's yet another reason for people to have less contact with one another which can only be undesirable. I suppose I'm lucky in that being retired I have time to go to town shopping. I quite enjoy talking with shopkeepers, buying a few things, couple of beers in a town pub, speak with a few more people. I feel better after a day of that than after a day looking at a computer seeing nobody and only communicating by email, text, etc. Blimey, people don't even phone each other these days!
I live in town and walk round all the time, St Stephens does my head in though, people with no spacial awareness just walking in front of you, grrrr.
And I cut through the bastard two to four times a day, and don't get me started on the chuggers (although I did sign up to RSPCA the other day)
