I don't want to start rumours but I feel that was probably the case.
I agree although I would say we clearly don't have the characters we've had in defence for the last few years. We've been spoilt with proper defenders who'd die for the cause. Chester and Maguire had that as well as a good dollop of ability, but even McShane, Davies, Bruce who had less ability still wouldn't concede half the goals that we do with posers like 'Big Hec' at the heart of our defence.
Me too, he is sort of the opposite Nigel Pearson, but find his interviews equally irritating.

And you can throw fitness in there too, it's been alarming how we have tended to fall away in the last 10/15 mins and with that comes the loss of concentration and hence a flood of late goals.

Without checking you probably couldn't even name 5 members of Burton or Millwall's squad and we've got a team full of ex-PL players. How many internationals do we have?
I'm not for a second suggesting its a great squad but to suggest its worse than those around us is laughable.
Spot on, in fact its probably the most important factor. Whats annoying is that is something that can be measured and then fixed easily, it doesn't take a genius to work out how to improve a players stamina and endurance.
I would guess most fans of other clubs couldn't name 5 of our squad.

I know what you mean regards his interviews, tended to speak in football type soundbites " we step up the plate,the boys put a good shift in today" all the same he's not done too bad at clubs where he's been.
Exactly, most fans only focus on their club.
Maybe in the PL it's easier to name 5 players, but that's due to the overexposure of that league.
I've seen a lot of criticism of Darnborough on Twitter, but I wonder just how accountable he is for this mess, we all seem to be in broad agreement that Sluts has been dealt a **** hand but if as head of recruitment he's been given not a great deal to spend and needing to get in 3/4 of a squad, assuming the Chelsea loanees weren't optional, to get in Stewart, Kingsley, Toral, Dicko, Irvine, Mazuch, Larsson and FC for about 15 mil isn't that bad is it???
Exactly, though if he does come and improves us then I will gratefully tolerate his clichés.
Farnborough was always brought here as a scapegoat route for Enob when the **** hit the fan.
As for potential replacements Adkins has done ok at the club' he has been at .. did well at both Scunny and Southampton tbh.
If we had a choice .. and I do say IF .. I'd like to see Alexander at Scunny here .. seems to have done a good job there and he seems to organise the team well. Whether he would see us as a better option though is hard to tell with the two clowns at the helm.

I'd struggle to name 5 players from most premier league clubs never mind the ****e that is in this division.
