Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah, 25, is proving to be the best Premier League signing of the season, according to the club's former defender Jamie Carragher. (Telegraph)

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says there is no pressure on Emre Can to sign a new contract, despite the Germany midfielder being linked with a move to Juventus. (Sky Sports)

Juventus will face competition from Manchester City to sign Can, with City willing to promise the 23-year-old a central role in the squad. (Calciomercato)

IF Can is demanding a huge pay rise and a small release clause he should be kicked out the squad - no messing
Either or i can understand
But he would basically be saying pay me more till i leave
Not on

Been common knowledge for months now I thought. He was told in the summer that if he wants the wage of a big player then he gets a release clause of one too. Cant have best of both worlds

He's maximising his value. I don't blame him.....we should have tied him down to a deal a long time ago. It's our fault, not his!

Nah he is holding us to ransom. Personally i dont like that, so long and thanks for the all the fish. As i understand it the talks started long ago, his agents have delayed, clear endgame there as far as i am concerned. Right up there with maccas betrayal. Owen was a mercenary, but he was at least honest, like suarez they both never hid the fact that they would move on.

Well this club set the precedent by giving Migs and Lovren stupid contracts so why shouldn’t Can demand more than them?

Anyways, I think the issue around the release clause and not salary - Juventus will hardly offer Big wages because it’s not what they do, and Can has seen first hand how our club negotiates when there is no release clause - look at Coutinho.

Because both Migs and Lovren start when fit, Can might not...

You have to ask yourself why they have been given the contracts they wanted and he hasn't? Without knowing the facts speculation is pointless.

They know their ability and play to the best of it while trying to follow the managers orders, Can does neither.

I’m guessing it hinges around the release clause. Has the club ever put in a release clause? I can’t recall any??

I've no idea, mate. I'm not an ITK. All I know is there's a reason for everything, no matter how obscure to us. Can's negotiations are obviously sticking over something.
When it's all over, one way or another, we'll no doubt hear both sides of the story - and can pick whichever one we like the most.
