Grayson was doing a thankless job in very tough circumstances and deserved time. The list of candidates for the job does not fill me with any optimism. Neither does the current hierarchy, who along with the bad eggs still left in the dressing room, are the real failures, but they carry on regardless.
O’Shea and Cattermole have played under 24% of all the managers Sunderland have ever had. I don’t really want Karanka as I can’t understand him when he’s talking. I don’t want SKP because we would ruin him. Save him for when we have a decent club again. Pearson or Pardew seem to be the best of the well known ones but earlier someone put some foreign managers forward and they sounded ok. At least they won’t know what we’re like and may come in with a different approach and mindset. Grayson had to go but he was given a raw deal with the meagre transfer budget. We could do what we seem to do to other managers and say they will be given a big transfer kitty and once they join just give them peanuts. It worked with Moyes.
I dont think it matters if Jesus Christ came in. There's some evil c*nt over there (and not Short) who is controlling things for whatever reason. Although not realistic I would sack every f*cking one of them over there thats players, coaches, the ball boys, the stewards the f*cking lot and bring in new personnel. Give it to the dream time of PDC & Ball. Any f*cker not giving 110% on that pitch would get a right good pasting when they came off. PS, maybe went just a tad overboard there but I think most of you will see where I am coming from.
I have a feeling we are going to get Phil Neville and Ryan Giggs. Maybe it was a Halloween dream.....
Please Please Please take Mick Mack back! We are heartily sick to death of his dull, negative and boring tactics and his foul mouth! Most Ipswich fans would happily drive him back up North ourselves!!
My heart would go for Peter Reid with Kevin Phillips as his number 2 and long term successor... My head would go for Steve Bould from Arsenal...
I’ve been thinking Phillips maybe alongside an old head like Reid. I know there’s an element of nostalgia driving that, but why not? Would light the place up. That said, I still say Keane.
Keane ****ed Short off last time for dabbling where he shouldn't didn't he? He may not be in the UK but he still owns the club and that's one reason Keane won't be back (there will be others - and I'll include the basic failure at every other managerial position he's had since leaving us!) There are names being bandied about that I'd love at the club - like Sam Allardyce but he won't come. Phillips (and I've said this before) would probably be given more time by the fans due to his history but most would turn on him eventually and he'd probably end up hating the place. That's why I don't want him here currently I do actually think O'Shea will make a good manager (not now but in the future) - He just strikes me as someone who would be able to handle things well. Just an opinion (probably not a popular one) I wish I knew - there's so little rumour or speculation around with anything of note but, as I've said before, the fact that they aren't interviewing probably means that they know who's next already
I know all he pitfalls of Keane mate, I’ve said already I doubt it will happen due to the Short thing. Keane did unite the club though, that was the last time there was a buzz around. He went Ipswich, didn’t go well, but look at them since. A little like ya hey are a club in a rut and nobody has changed that since, Keane has seemingly done well with Ireland. His second book brought home how much he bought into the club and that he really did want to be here, remember, a lot of the concerns were around that, form had dipped but we weren’t in a relegation spot and we weren’t looking awful, I know some wanted him gone but it wasn’t a majority. I just think he’d lead again, deal with some of the dressing room ****ers. I agree JOS likely will have good attributes to be a manager, could the 2 work together, they’ve been around each other for 20 years after all? We are clutching at the minute, I’m not expecting Keane for all that you’ve mentioned but I genuinely think he ticks boxes, and I for one always liked the fella. Aye he’s a bit wild, a bit full of himself. You know what though he earned that, he backed it up. I’m certainly not against one of the lads at Shrewsbury or Wigan, maybe that’s a route to try. Just seen Don Goodman on Sky give the Wigan lad a great sales pitch.
What about Chris Coleman? About to go out of contract. I know he’s not done great at club level but he’s done a magnificent job with Wales, admittedly having Bale has helped.
I can't see anyone wanting this job...Whoever does eventually gets it will not be given a chance by our fans.
I think he had to go. 1 win in 13 is enough for anybody to get the tin tack. God knows who we get but hopefully a new appointment might give the players a kick up the jacksie for the next half a dozen games before we go back to the usual humdrum. I dont think you can blame the home support too much. They havnt seen the team win in the league this year ffs.
David moyes 16/1 hehe no chance. big Sam, Pearson or Klinsman with SKP as assistant, but Pearson will be too rough on them !
The poor bastards havnt been entertained over a prolonged period for yonks. I blame them for going in the first place.
I'd be happy enough with Robbie Stockdale taking over for now. I can't see that, as we are at the moment, we're going to attract anyone from outside the club that's any better on paper than Grayson was. We might take a punt on someone inexperienced and get lucky (Stefan Schwartz maybe), but we've not had much luck so far, so I'd not hold out much hope.
