Hang on, hang on. Can we get back to the point here? Liverpool broke every rule in the book and apologised so it's OK. What? I'm nicking next door's Merc while he's not looking. If discovered I'll say it was a misunderstanding and that I'm sorry. Sure that'll be fine. This is bollocks. It is no longer in the hands of the clubs, but the EPL who have bottled it totally.

The PL have a duty to investigate it given Liverpool practically admitted their guilt. Whether saints persue it should be totally irrelevant. The PL won't of course because it's a big club and its not in their interests to disadvantage the big clubs. Greed rules in football.

This is the issue for me.

There is no remorse or recognition that what happened was wrong or against the rules. The issue for everyone associated with Liverpool is that they were stupid enough to get caught.

Given Liverpool's previous track record with tapping up players the PL should make an example of them.

If they don't then the whole murky practice will continue.

    Agreed.
If they turn a blind eye to this, well how can we trust them with anything else.

I wish Kat was rich enough to let the k**b rot in the reserves for the entire length of his contract and end his career. Sick of these idiots

Exactly. With VVD, you get a much better defender, a very good deep midfielder, a playmaker, and a handy striker.

I'm not sure what he has supposed to have done that another player wouldn't. He's allowed to listen. He didn't say anything about a commitment to Liverpool, just that if he left Southampton he'd like to go there. To me that's nothing. If he suddenly makes official demands to get out of his long contract and go there then that's different.

Davies once said he'd like to return to Rangers one day, and he was only 6 months into his Saints contract.

Oh come on. Don't be so naive. He's clearly been talking to Klopp, Liverpool, anyone else his agent wants to pimp him to. That aside, his Twitter/instagram post says all you need to know....

He went for dinner with Klopp to discuss his future. He then said he would want to join Liverpool. He is now sulking a little because he didn't get what he wanted. Not exactly a good look.

And you think that's sensible in the light of the media furore?

Personally, I don't give a ****. He's a 25 year old and doesn't see consequences from all angles. I suspect this'll blow over and Saints will either keep him or they won't. Being part of a contract with 5 years to run and absolutely no need to sell means he's unlikely to be anywhere else than at Southampton next season.
If it doesn't blow over then I think Saints will have something more to say and demand of about 'tapping up' that will make clubs like Liverpool wish they hadn't barged in where they're not wanted.
