Bertrand is contracted to 2021. I'll be astounded if we flog him. It's less than a year since we extended his contract.

I know I'm repetitive on this subject but since the meltdown summer (when I think a few Cortese verbal promises were cashed in) we haven't got rid of a single player, not one, with more than two years left on their contract. I know that past performance may not be an indicator, etc, but it's been a clear pattern since then.

Totally agree. Hopefully the same will apply to Virgil this summer. Ignore this nonsense that if a player wants out they get out - contracts can stop this, even if it is simply delaying the inevitable for another season or 2.
It will come down to whether our board have a backbone or not - and may be effected by any potential takeover.

If we can keep VvD and Bertrand and perhaps add a goalscoring midfielder we will have had a very good summer, I can only hope :)!

But who will do next seasons End of Season Awards night?

Maybe he realised there will be hardly any players left and had foresight to know if he moved to Merseyside he will still be dishing out awards to Southampton players.
