With what I heard I would say no. Also according to a lot of Dundee Utd press and those close to the club we are pretty high on Robson.
Except we spoke to Dundee and asked for him on loan. They said no, you have to buy. We said no. As a result he felt unsettled. There's no comparison at all other than two unsettled players, who didn't get a move. The approaches were completely different.
Been injured and played U23 football since then. He gets mugged off a lot at U23 level,it will be even worse in Prem.
Only if you believe the Express. Which I don't ever. Don't believe the Cedric deadline day story either.
They're direct quotes from Dundee's manager. I'm not terribly fussed that we made an approach for someone without making a bid to buy, but it'd seem to be 100% clear that we did indeed do that.
You have to ask why the player was unsettled, did he want to come to us knowing we could improve his future development, or was it for a bigger wage packet? A loan move would have given us an idea about whether he was good enough for us to take a gamble on, no harm in asking.
I wouldn't know because I genuinely would not read anything written in the Express. But an article can be by and large factually accurate yet still set out deliberately to mislead. If it's in the Mail, the Express, or the Sun, then to me it is a deliberate distortion unless proven otherwise.
So we inquired about a player, the player became unsettled because we only wanted him on loan and the club didn't want him to go (fair enough). Not really the clubs fault a player became unsettled because we wanted one thing and they wanted another....
Umm........ really must try it.........its about the only paper I haven't wiped my backside in.........
