I did say the end of this month, but Imsuppose a few days won't matter too much. I'll edit the title too.

By the way, this thread is just for rumours concerning Southampton Football Club, both incoming and outgoing (not that there is any chance of any outgoing! <whistle>)

We can have another thread later on for rumours which aren't connected with Saints at all, like we did in January.

You're getting soft...I thought Brixham was for the stocks. There are loads of rumours so a good idea to have somewhere to put them. Basically, we are looking at everyone and VVD is signing for everyone.

Last season our big signings - we signed Redmond on 1st July (agreed end of June), then Hojbjerg on 11th July, but Boufal not until 29th August

I think some signings would have been sooner had we not had Koemans betrayal.

I think this season our first signing will be mid June.
 
Far too many people play that football manager game that they have now confused gaming and reality. Can't we just give this crap a rest until something actually happens. Like so many of the threads it will go on and on about things nobody knows a thing about and will never happen.

I have already renamed Virgil as Superman as he is going to have a torrid time next season playing for five different clubs every week.

I want to read news reports of things that have happened not endless crap speculation of what might happen and in all likelihood will never ever happen.

Don't read the transfer rumours thread then. All of our actual signings get their own thread eventually anyway.

The potential takeover might stall them. And we may yet be let down by someone.
 
Just a question. Assuming everyone wants Virgil and he stays in England, what do you think would be the best move for him?

Stay with us, obviously. Give him a chance to develop; he's still learning, let him continue to do so at a club where the odd mistake - and he does make a few - will be forgiven.

We could do with a bit of a clear out of peripheral players who aren't getting much of a look in.
It's better for them to leave and get game time and for use to bring in transfer fees and free up wages that will allow us to pay the players we want to keep and new incomers
