well not surprised did think it was the most probable result.
Noticeable that turnout higher in Eng and Wales than Scotland and N Ireland so as others have said remain didn't get their vote out - though their abysmal campaign (excepting the last few days by which time it was too late ) didn't inspire much confidence to say the least.
EU is probably irrepeirably damaged and the economic damage to some of their Eurozone economies will push them back into recession.
The idea that people voted to leave because they were racist seems way too simplistic and fails to acknowledge the damage that an apparently never ending supply of cheap labour has done to wages and job conditions in large areas of the country - for example in the area where i live the 3rd largest employer opened a recruiting office in Poland and within 2 years all staff except managers and a few technical staff (who had to learn Polish so they could converse with the staff) were Polish. Why is anyone is surprised that breeds resentment ?
PS jeez Boris and Gove making speeches right now suddenly trying to sound statesmanlike and pro immigration.
They almost seem to think that they maybe room for another renegotiation
So instead of Polish people working for low wages now English people can have even lower wage jobs. And no benefits when the recession means those jobs disappear completely.

England and Wales have many things in common that unite themHow in Gods name are we going to get the sheep shaggers to stop leeching off us![]()

the race was already won as huge percentage of jobs round here are minimum wage / part time / zero hours / agency

I stopped watching long ago.Boris Johnson dad sounds exactly like Boris ....lol
Tbh, I'm not sure what Remain could really have done, they have so little to work with. "Everything's a bit **** but muddle on because it might be even ****ter if we change" isn't very inspiring.
Like I said a few days ago, it's easy to be in opposition, it's easy to point out where things are wrong (because there's always plenty wrong) and you don't really need to present a viable alternative.
It's why we have such a turnaround of government because people vote for change in the hopes that it's an improvement, but it seldom is.
So Leave only have to point out the big problems within the EU to get people on their side. They don't have to prove that they can do better.
As for the cheap labour issue - I'll be very interested to see if wages rise to attract indigenous workers to all those **** jobs the immigrants have been doing throughout my lifetime (we had the same argument decades ago with the Commonwealth immigrants).
Somehow I doubt it.

*****I was going to say something along these lines.Corbyn on his way.
So let's look on the bright side.
The NHS will now become a world class service with all the extra money Brexit bods said could go into the service.
Schools will have smaller numbers and therefore have more money to spend on improving.
More jobs so unemployment will go down.
All things that Brexit built a campaign on so the pound will bounce back and it's a bright future.
Let's see.
