Yoan Gouffran set to complete move to Newcastle.

Seems like a done deal.

Just hope Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Moussa Sissoko and Massadio Haidara sign. I think we'l be aiming for a better and more high profile CF in the summer?
 
YOAN GOUFFRAN is expected to jet into Newcastle tonight to complete a January transfer window move to St James' Park.

As reported in the Chronicle last night Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has also arrived on Tyneside to complete his £6.7million move to United and Nancy's Massadio Haidara is also due to confirm his move from Ligue 1.

Gouffran's move comes after a bid of 1.5million Euros was accepted by Bordeaux and ths player will bolster Alan Pardew's frontline if the move is completed later today.
 
We should have just kept this lad as our experienced striker.............

But in any case, its still only rumours flying everywhere as per the normal Jan window.

Look what happened to that "investment" this past summer with only Anita in and Best Guthrie etc out.

If its back up then great but not the baa replacement maybe the best replacement
 
He is definitely not good enough to be the long term replacement for Ba, but he will be better than what we currently have until the summer. He has done well in Ligue 1, but that's considered to be his level. He is a good signing for the fee and will add some depth to the squad. It will be interesting to see how he copes with the EPL, but it may be a step too far for him and definitely a step to far to fill Demba's shoes.
 
In 2005, Shepherd and Souness went a bit transfer-crazy, signing up Emre, Parker, Krul, Moore and Clark, before splurging on Luque, Solano and...grrr....Owen...

We also got rid of both O'Briens, Robert, Bellamy, Ambrose, Butt, Viana, Jenas and Milner (on loan) hat summer.

Quite the shake-up. Didn't do much to save Souness' job mind. ;)
