I agree that’s exactly what he’s doing. In both cases though it is autocratic regimes. I think the majority of Venezuelans and Iranians are happy with his actions. As he said though, the right person or persons need to be in charge for change to happen. If they aren’t then a whole can of worms gets opened which will infect the world for decades to come.
In Venezuela though there was a sitting government he could try to work with, and if that failed there was an opposition leader who is widely believed to have won the last election but lost out to state sponsored electoral fraud (allegedly).

There's just no one waiting in the wings in Iran. I would love to see the back of the current regime but without a plan for what happens after we're in danger of creating another Libya or Iraq.

There are no consequences for Trump, if it all goes horribly wrong it won’t affect him at all …

… he’ll just ‘do a Boris’, make a joke and blame everyone else.

You've just got to look at Libya which still hasn't recovered after Gaddafi was taken out. It opened a route for people smuggling across the Mediterranean and lots of other dodgy activities.

Lyrics from a linkin park song called hands held high
"
In my livin' room watchin', but I am not laughin'
'Cause when it gets tense, I know what might happen
The war is cold, the bold men take action
Have to react to get blown into fractions
Ten years old, there's somethin' to see
Another kid my age drugged under a Jeep
Taken and bound and found later under a tree
I wonder if he had thought, "The next one could be me"

Do you see the soldiers that are out today?
They brush the dust from bulletproof vests away
It's ironic, at times like this you'd pray
But a bomb blew the mosque up yesterday
There's bombs on the buses, bikes, roads
Inside your market, your shops, and your clothes
My dad, he's got a lot of fear, I know
But enough pride inside not to let that show

My brother had a book he would hold with pride
A little red cover with a broken spine on the back
He hand-wrote a quote inside
"When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die"
Meanwhile, the leader just talks away
Stutterin' and mumblin' for nightly news to replay
The rest of the world watchin' at the end of the day
Both scared and angry, like, "What did he say?"

The challenges are different but not insurmountable. Before 1979 Iran was a fairly westernised country. There will still be people there who want to return to that.
There was the Arab Spring not that long ago. I’m not seeing anyone making their way to Iran, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan or any other country with a hard line theocratic government in charge, for a better life. I do see a lot from those countries wanting to move to westernised countries as you do as well.
It’s got to the point that the Home Secretary is stopping student visas from Afghanistan and a few other countries as they have identified that they are most likely to request asylum.

He is a very polarising figure. I know as many people who like him as hate him.
That’s fine but you’re speaking for a handful of people who aren’t particularly affected by his policies and actions.

Those who ‘adore’ him seem to be like the fanatics who he encouraged to storm Capitol Hill.

I'm sorry to inform you mate but Sunderland will be the reason WW3 starts.
Just think about it
1913 we win things 1914 WW1 starts
1936, 1937 we win things 1939 WW2 starts
Not sure what happened in 1973 mind , could just be the exception that proves the rule.
Do we really want SAFC to win the league/ Cup?
Alternatively of course it could just have been them Germans keeping us in our place, cant have little old Sunderland dominating football :emoticon-0140-rofl: :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:

On the other hand, USofA withdrew from Vietnam in 1973, though this didn't stop the fighting, it reduced it considerably.
So, you never know, perhaps we have turned into a good omen!!

Come on Smug. You know he’s sueing the BBC for false reporting on that. The BBCs subterfuge was even reported over here. It was Capitol Hill as well btw ;)

Right wing populism never ends well.

Nobody wants Iran to get a nuclear weapon but it’s Isreal and the US’s war. The man child can expect little support from the UK or Europe given his capitulation to Putin over Ukraine.

The sinking of the Iranian ship and needless loss of lives miles from the war was completely unnecessary and hardly likely to encourage support either.

It appears that many rich Brits, who went to the middle east to avoid tax... are now complaining the Government is not organising flights quick enough to bring them 'home'. Perhaps they could, using their tax savings, to hire a private jet?
The BBC are reporting somebody said it’s chaos because a plane couldn’t take off because of a technical issue. It would be chaos for Mr or Mrs Angry if the plane took off and crashed.

Make the tax avoiders pay for their flights with a hefty supplement to pay for genuine people caught up in this war.

The Reports I have seen it is people on holiday or stuck in transit that are complaining, the people that live there are just being extra careful, and not bothered about leaving.

The plane couldn't take off because pilots exceeded their flying hours

The US Senate have backed Trump so I expect things to accelerate quickly, could be the nod he has been waiting for to escalate even further.
Meanwhile Starmer is pandering to his muslim voters and should have HMS Dragon out of the garage and over to Cyprus sometime next week, the one plane we have sent to bring people home has no pilot because hes over his flying hours.
Skynews are reporting that our military are embarrassed that they dont have the ability to protect Cyprus.
We are looking weaker and weaker by the day.

Years of hollowing out of the military post-cold war on the back of the supposed peace dividend. I think all of us, not just politicians across the political spectrum, took our eye off the ball.
