This 'hospital air strike' coverage reminds me of when there's an earthquake that kills ten thousand people. After ten days they pull out some 90 year old woman who survived by eating her cat. The media report it as if the other 9,999 casualties are irrelevant and everyone rejoices.

Thousands of innocent people are dying.

Probably a mistake to create Israel there in the first place ...

... Nuremburg would've been better.
I think it was the Jews who decided the location for their homeland - going back to where they originated from. I don’t think they asked anyone.

I wouldn’t believe in a hundred years that was a Hamas rocket, it would take something the size of a scud to flatten a building with 2000 people in, all the ones I’ve saw land in Israel are lucky to take a roof off a house, I’ve saw bigger rockets bought at our newsagents.

But it is becoming obvious that the explosion was in the car park, and some cars were undamaged. 500 dead ? In a car park. Very unlikely.

Israel had the sympathy of much of the world but are systematically destroying it ...

... it's as if they were waiting for a reason to destroy Gaza.

The horrific actions of Hamas deserved a reaction but this isn't the way to react to a bunch of terrorists, this is medieval on innocent people.

Other neigbouring nations won't turn a blind eye and, to be honest, how can we expect them to.

The UK didn't whistle in the wind and ignore Russia trying to crush Ukraine.
According to the bible, the Jews are the “chosen people”, and even that book describes them as head-strong. Or was it “stiff-necked”. And I think that description is accurate. They don’t give a fig for what other nations think of them (with the possible exception of the U.S. and only them because without them they are finished) I admire the Jewish people because of their cleverness. An innovative and inventive race. But while I understand their desire for revenge, I deplore their scattergun approach. As I watched on the news the apartment blocks in Gaza collapsing under Israeli fire, I couldn’t help feeling for the poor, ordinary people who were losing their homes, lives and loved ones; people who, for the most part, just wanted to get on with their lives and care for their families. The only difference I can see between the Jews and the nazi death squads who followed the German advance through Russia, murdering and destroying, is that the nazis did it face to face.

I am almost wary to comment, because I am so bloody confused. But what if it was all civilians gathered in that car park and it became a fireball? I dont know what to believe and I suppose nobody does miles away from the ground.

All kinds of excuses/reasons, some plausible some ludicrous, can be found as to how this isn't the result of one of hundreds of Israeli air strikes.

In reality it's much more likely to be an air strike though not certain.

What is clear is that Israel believe they have carte blanche to retaliate in whichever they choose.

Gaza is one of the most densely populated areas in the world so it's virtually impossible for air strikes to be specific.

Many more civilians are being killed than Hamas terrorists which Israel know and clearly don't care.

Sunak jumping in and giving Israel total unending support is a serious lack of reason imo.
Is Sunak not just following the example of all, bar one, post war, U.K. prime ministers by wagging his tail for the U.S.?

Unfortunately this is why there will never be peace in the area, they will fight until one or both sides are wiped out. Or others are dragged in causing a wider conflict.
Yes neither will back down from “rather die than agree” - fair enough , get on with it without expecting us to die because you are unwilling to find a way to peace.

Having worked for wealthy Jews, an Arab prince and a Lebanese politician I've deliberately avoided paying much attention to Middle East politics.

But, to try to understand a little of what's happening, I watched the BBC on Sunday morning and Sky today ...

... Naftali Bennett, the ex-Israeli PM yesterday and the president Isaac Herzog today.

FFS, if I had neighbours like these I think I'd be thinking about sending a few rockets over the garden fence ...

... what a hateful aggressive pair they are, if they're typical of Israelis then there's no hope for peace over there.

Two thousand years of persecution followed by seventy years of living surrounded by people who would happily carry on exterminating you and everyone like you if only they had the means makes you grouchy like that, I'd guess. Some people can't even take being disagreed with on the internet, for example.

Didn't want them there in the first place and who were then herded out of their homes by the new arrivals backed by the rest of the Western World, whats wrong with these people I ask.

Exactly. Both sides have grievances. The problem is neither of them really want a solution that isn't elimination of the enemy.
