nowt like a bit of sabre rattling to paper over the cracks back in Moscow, Putin is creating a crisis to parade his leadership skills, but the Russian people have no appetite for war, they'd much prefer food and heating.

Disagree. I blame the Yanks.

So, a lot of countries are advising that people evacuate Ukraine, and the US believe that Ukraine will be invaded by Russia next week (oddly they've specifically said Wednesday).

Hmmm I'm starting to worry where this could spiral to now.

I've just filled up the car, petrol prices and energy prices will absolutely rocket if Vlad goes over the border, much more than what folk are currently paying. The scope for further escalated shenanigans is huge, whether it be by decisions or miscalculation.

I think we're no further forward, after this alleged phone call between Putin & Biden.

Just more posturing with remarks of "Swift Action" if Russia invade Ukraine.

Why do you blame USA tho?
They've been pushing for decades to destabilise and bring down Russia. Now they've got NATO camped outside on their doorstep.

Anybody who thinks Russia are the bad guys and the West are being the good guys, has learned nothing from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Time to dig out the Betamax version of Threads

Even if Russia invaded Ukraine, that’s America’s fault?

How do you think America would feel if Canada signed a military pact with Russia and China?
Ukraine haven’t yet joined NATO but even if someone on a boarder did sign a military pact, I’m not sure that is a warrant to invade and inflict loss of life. As always it won’t be any of the politicians or their children that die.
The sooner we have world harmony the better. Can’t see it any time soon.

I agree with the last bit. The world doesn't need any more wars.

It's the Americans that are ramping up all this hysteria. Russia are continually denying that they're going to invade Ukraine and now even the Ukrainian president/prime minister is asking the Americans to share this intelligence with them because they don't believe Russia will invade.

An American submarine has been spotted by the Russians in their waters, now. I believe the Americans are the biggest aggressors in all of this.

Russia are constantly flirting with our airspace and seas.

Most people don't want Scotland to leave the UK but we haven't put one hundred thousand troops on our border with them.
How does that compare to Russia and the Ukraine?

Russia and Ukraine are two completely separate countries. Scotland and England are joined together.

None of our enemies have been continually getting closer to our borders. That has been happening with Russia.
