He won the Eredivisie
Reminder to you that even Altidore managed to score a **** load in that league. It's possibly the most overrated league in the world.
When he was offered the job at Twente he turned it down hoping to be appointed at ****ing Blackburn
He then realised that the northerners didn't want him anywhere near them and sheepishly signed for Twente.He won the league, just, before signing for Wolfsburg and failing miserably. He then signed for Forest and failed even more miserably. He then went back for Twente and failed, miserably.
Isn't managing Twente in Holland the same as managing St Mirren in Scotland. He did a good job there vs the likes of PSV and Ajax. In fact, he took a team who had never won their league to the pinnacle.
He also won the League Cup for Middlesboro too which other board members seem to think makes someone an automatic shoe in for a top team (Laudrup anyone)

I doubt SB will go anywhere for the following reasons ( some mentioned by others earlier).....
1. I believe AA respects & trusts him for his level headed approach....his low key murmurings about the name change issue shows a high level of dedication to his major focus....get the team further up the ladder. That will aid AA in his mission...retain Prem League status, with a competent manager who's willing to let the owner "explore" odd-ball ideas. SB has said his piece, it will have been noted by AA. SB is getting on with the job he is paid for.
2. Given the budget, he's recruited well (so far) to build a squad that can hold its own in this league. AA will probably trust him with funds to make safety a probability now.
3. He seems to have the respect of the players and is engendering a culture of "togetherness"....a managerial skill not to be undervalued in this cut-throat business.
4. His resume (C.V.) will only get better if he can accomplish more with HCAFC. An unfashionable team, not the greatest budget, but a great situation for stabilising & advancing a managers reputation.
5. He's on good money (I suspect) and is grateful for AA to have brought him out of the wilderness. SB has probably learnt his lessons from the past, and will not be so hasty in his desire to go for glory at a "big" club.....fraught with danger.
6. Success with Hull City will make him more marketable. His time with a "big" club will only come with a proven record of success with a lesser club since his "re-birth". His time will come. He should stay & I think he's well aware of that.
7. Should AA be "engineering" a sale of the club, SB would be a an asset any potential purchaser would find attractive. To SB's benefit I would think ?
Of course, all this is predicated on an assumption that AA will not go berserk & follow the (sometimes) irrational decision making of other owners. Big ask I know

I don't believe the notion that SB would leave is as crazy as it sounds. There are a number of clubs in the market and it should be easy pickings for a man at the top of his latest esteem ladder.
His experience in the transfer window with Shane Long will give him pause for thought.
The sort of players he needs are not cheap and his budget is unlikely to match that.
The club must be in poor morale behind the scenes; NT leaving, the stupidity of the Chairman's remarks and manipulation, the unsavoury media glare and the inevitable effect this will have on his season, would help him consider a decent offer.
He has a track-record of moving when he thinks it is right for his career and he is absolutely sure that his career has the second wind he so craved - a move, this time around would draw no criticism, in fact it would probably draw respect if it was based on NOT supporting the Egyptian Madman.

If a top club came in for him, paid his compo, increased his salary, gave him some of the best players in the world to manage, yeah if he leaves, its because of Dr Allam.

This name change nonsense is obviously pissing him off, not necessarily enough to make him want to leave, but it makes it more likely than it would be if it wasn't happening.

What the **** are you on about? I gave 5 reasons why he might leave and one of them was to do with the lunatic (not you, himself, the owner), the rest were all to do with his own renewed career building, which includes access to the quality players you would aspire to. I believe it has been Steve Bruce and only Steve Bruce that has cautioned against the campaign and name-change (that's both parties) having an adverse affect on his team. if he left, I never said he would spin it as a stand against AA, I did say others might applaud him if he did - there is a difference. never mind, you change it to suit your ends.

Out of all the jobs - only one is at a top 6 side. Bruce will probably like to manage England at some point and to do that you really need a few good years success at a top 6 side, and as Spurs will be the only such side with a long-term vacancy (Chelsea are never long-term and Moyes will not be sacked for a few years as it would show SAF made a mistake) then he could be tempted to see how he performs there BUT Levy is there (The Daniel version, not our own Peter) who I get the impression that he can be a right pain in the rear to work for, he has loyalty to Papa Allam for giving him a job when no one seemed to want to touch him with a barge pole and he must want to see how far he can take this team onwards - maybe reaching a cup final (not a tradition of this club)
Just like Pearson was before he got fed up of working for Allam, and ****ed off back to Leicester, where he was originally happy to leave and in fact hated the place.
