Afternoon lads!

Long time no speak, hope you are all keeping well?

Just wondered if many people are worried about tomorrows game and subsequently our form then for the rest of the season?

Last week was pure horseshit I really hope we can improve for tomorrow but Im doubtful of getting a result. Then I have worries for our form going forward we seem to have lost our way a little bit.

Am I over reacting?

they are all comig on here to bore us after last week, arse 4life will be on soon no doubt, what a sad lot, there most important game already gone

Exactly. They've got one player, and one player only. When he gets injured, which is inevitable, they'll be exposed for the pile of mediocre ****e that they are.

How useless were 'Pool today? Absolutely dreadful! They should have beaten AFC 8-2, but couldn't get the ball in the net!

AFC rode their luck and stole a win, but it's still three points.

We absolutely must beat United tomorrow, if we now have any hope of finishing third, otherwise I fear that we'll go into a spiral, and may even end up finishing 5th. Our humiliating capitulation against Arsenal last weekend was the turning point, for me, and the lads now need to pull off the win of their careers to get us back on course.

What worries me most of all is the real danger that the speculation surrounding Harry leaving has unsettled the dressing room and training, because the way we played against Arsenal is the worst I've seen us for a long, long time. We never played that badly under Ramos, and that's saying something!

Nice to see an honest assessment from a Spud. I don't Man Utd even drawing this. They will need this win or they can kiss the title goodbye to Man City.

Chelsea lost so the chaos continues for them. Arsenal were back to being unimpressive apart from one or two players.

One bad... well awful game against Arsenal doesn't make us a bad side so I think we'll give United a great game tomorrow regardless of the result. If we can stay 3rd or be 1/2 points off by the end of the month, we'll be fine and worst case we'll finish 4th. We couldn't have wished for a better run in for April/ May, whilst Arsenal and Chelsea have some tough games there aswell as easier games which they tend to slip up on anyway.

I'm more excited at our excellent chance of winning the FA Cup at the moment, 3rd would be great but 4th and the Cup would be much better.

Last time we shipped 5 goals we went on to win ten and draw one of the next eleven Premier League games. Same again would do nicely.

As a fan I'm always worried unless a result of some kind is guaranteed. But I'm not particularly worried now. There's nothing unusual about a team looking awful and getting thrashed away. It's one of the more common outcomes in all sports. Could it be the beginning of a trend? Sure, but I don't see any particular reason to think it will.

I'm pleased with the games today, on balance, especially Chelsea losing. It looks like there are two things to play for, third and fourth, and the Chelsea loss helps in terms of getting at least fourth. (Second looks like a faint hope requiring Man U to collapse, and first is more or less out of the question, at this point.) I'll take my chances on third in a two team race with Arsenal, thank you very much. I was asking myself today whether I preferred Arsenal or Liverpool winning today, and I realized I preferred Arsenal. Let Chelsea and Liverpool keep falling back, as far as I'm concerned. (No disrespect to Newcastle fans, by the way. I like their lineup better than anyone except the current top three, but Newcastle in the top four is like Tottenham in the top two--can't see it happening this year.)

After the Man U game we've only got one really difficult fixture and that is against the Chavs. No disrespect to West Brom but on todays showing that match might not be that difficult as well.

I think that we will be up for it tomorrow, we thought that the goons would be a walkover and got caught out. We will be expecting a hard match tomorrow. I hope Arry plays a team with a backbone, Livermore ought to be the first name on the teamsheet.

Contender for the worst comment of the decade?

Contender for most stupid comment? Of course you're virtually totally reliant on RVP, the figures don't lie. Out of 55 goals you've scored this season, he has scored 31 of them! Way more than half of ALL your goals!!

Read your comment again. Think about it slowly. Then come back to me and apologise.

We know we rely on van Persie too much for goals, but that doesn't mean the contributions of our other players should be overlooked. Which is exactly what you are doing <ok>

I've no intention of apologising for speaking the plain truth. The facts are, that you can play all the pretty , pretty football you like, but at the end of it all it's about scoring more goals than the other side. If you have nobody to contribute the end product, it all counts for nothing! Similarly, if your defence is full of holes, then you have problems at both ends - as your early form demonstrated before RVP went on his scoring spree. I repeat, if he gets crocked, you're up **** creek!

RVP is more than just a goal-scorer for AFC, just as Rooney is more than a goal-scorer for United. He is their talisman, their heartbeat, the person who makes the whole team tick. Without his presence in the side, AFC will be a shadow of what it is.

Van Persie, Walcott, Gervinho, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Gibbs, Sagna, Santos, Rosicky, Chamakh, Oxlade Chamberlain, Arteta, Song, Ramsey and Park Chu-Young have all scored for us this season. That's 15 different goalscorers. You are making it sound as if we only have one player to score all of our goals for us and are ignoring how effective other players for us have been.

There is a awful lot of hyperbole in your posts - if we had Park Chu-Young or Bendtner, for example, playing in the lone centre forward role, I would still fully expect either player to score a substantial amount of goals. Why? Because they would be our target man who's main function is to score the most goals for a team. I would not expect either to score 30+ goals because neither have the technique or finesse which van Persie is well endowed with, but I would still expect them to score a reasonable amount of goals nonetheless.

You're still not giving our other players' credit for their performances and their assists, in helping van Persie's goal tally go up to 31 this season.

We know we need better back-up options for van Persie and we know we rely on van Persie too much for our goals and we need more players chipping in, but van Persie is doing his job as a centre forward, divinely. Hopefully this situation will be sorted out in the Summer. What does irk me though is people constantly disregarding the telling assistance of all our other players and how we've collaborated as a strong attacking team. Song, Arteta, Rosicky, Szczsney, Koscielny, Vermaelen etc don't get near enough credit from rival fans.

All you're doing is proving my point.

If Spurs' utilized a system where they played only one man in attack, then maybe you would understand the primary role of a centre forward and the significance of their contribution to the team. But this is basic football knowledge. If you do not understand the role of a centre forward a la van Persie, then you do not know much about football.

Yes,yes. All very interesting. The fact remains that Persil has scored more than half of all your goals this season. If you seriously think he can be so easily replaced by a lazy donkey, like Bendtner, you're even more deluded than your loopy manager.
Of course, even RVP can't play the opposition all on his own (although on days like yesterday he must feel like that's exactly what he's doing!) The whole point is, that it's only because he is such an effective finisher, many times crafting goals, like the one against us, all by himself, that you are where you are. I repeat the rest of your team are not much better than average. You have one man, and one man only, to thank for your current league position!

You do not understand how football works. At all.

I don't even know why you bother to support any team, let alone Spurs.

I understand football, alright. What I don't understand is why you keep trying to deny the blindingly obvious! You seem to want to take Gooner self-delusion to new heights, all by yourself!
