Van Persie, Walcott, Gervinho, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Gibbs, Sagna, Santos, Rosicky, Chamakh, Oxlade Chamberlain, Arteta, Song, Ramsey and Park Chu-Young have all scored for us this season. That's 15 different goalscorers. You are making it sound as if we only have one player to score all of our goals for us and are ignoring how effective other players for us have been.
There is a awful lot of hyperbole in your posts - if we had Park Chu-Young or Bendtner, for example, playing in the lone centre forward role, I would still fully expect either player to score a substantial amount of goals. Why? Because they would be our target man who's main function is to score the most goals for a team. I would not expect either to score 30+ goals because neither have the technique or finesse which van Persie is well endowed with, but I would still expect them to score a reasonable amount of goals nonetheless.
You're still not giving our other players' credit for their performances and their assists, in helping van Persie's goal tally go up to 31 this season.
We know we need better back-up options for van Persie and we know we rely on van Persie too much for our goals and we need more players chipping in, but van Persie is doing his job as a centre forward, divinely. Hopefully this situation will be sorted out in the Summer. What does irk me though is people constantly disregarding the telling assistance of all our other players and how we've collaborated as a strong attacking team. Song, Arteta, Rosicky, Szczsney, Koscielny, Vermaelen etc don't get near enough credit from rival fans.
All you're doing is proving my point.
If Spurs' utilized a system where they played only one man in attack, then maybe you would understand the primary role of a centre forward and the significance of their contribution to the team. But this is basic football knowledge. If you do not understand the role of a centre forward a la van Persie, then you do not know much about football.
