Can see the debate both ways here. Southgate record speaks for itself in tournaments. He does seem to have that fear of taking the game to the opposition. The talent available is there to do so. The defence is a worry. Would be happier with Walker when fit in there. Don’t understand Kane spending so much time in midfield therefore leaving us with no one up front on the break. Foden lack of game time? Crying out for him last night. Won’t win every match but can at least be more positive especially in games we should win with the players we have. As stated his record is very good In tournaments but with more positivity we could of won the Euros. However we didn’t.
Managing at international football is odd isn’t it. Look back to 2016 when Southgate took over, we’d just lost to Iceland and Allardyce had been sacked after one game. If you’d have said the next manager would get us to a semi final and a final, I bet most would have taken it. Opportunities to win things at international level are so rare, basically one manager of the big countries can only be successful every two years. The odds are so slim. Southgate has done an incredible job all told, but at the same time he could have done even better. I do think this should be his last tournament, but I respect what he’s done for us.
Mason Mount is probably the most overrated English midfielder since Jack Wilshere. Foden is light years ahead of him.
He has turned down a £200,000 a week contract offer. Wants parity with Raheem Sterling. Football continues its descent into insanity.
No idea how far he ran No idea how many passes he made No idea of any stats but I thought musah for them dominated the midfield and was excellent
