Tried to explain promotion and relegation to the Australians... They just do not get it. They don't see that it holds the game back and makes their top league no competitive. Weird.

Absolutely essential for growth mate. You need competition both ends of the league, it stands to reason.

If you can’t win and can’t lose, then you stagnate.

Their competitions are bizarre. It's accepted that they spend a few years at the top before dropping off and spending a few years at the bottom while they rebuild through the draft.

Means if you're outside the top half you're playing for absolutely nothing. For years...

Ridiculous. It’s sport. You have to at least think or hope you can win. Cycles doesn’t work.

Really similar to the NFL. I get the appeal with sports where there's **** all international crossover or any room for growth within the country but if you want to compete internationally you need to compete domestically.

I don’t think the US will get there with it, the expansions are a way forward, they’d need to conference it and have playoffs, but then they even do that in Spain and Germany so why not?

It needs the colleges to really get into it for them to fully grow it, the college football and basketball programmes etc are quite stunning.

If they got football into that setup **** me they’d get good at it.

That’s my thoughts mate, genuine chance at the Euros.

2 or 3 of the next wave been through by then as well, Remember we’d likely be better at CB with one of Tarkowski or Keane had they not had injuries.

Great shape for 2 years, if nothing else we’ve had a last minute winner and a great afternoon today, we’ve had some moments to enjoy regardless what comes next.

It’s a shame I can’t post my snappy story here it’s ****ing brilliant, fanzone and 02, absolute bedlam and not a spot of bother, class day.

Nowt against Young... other than he's a bit of a rodent of a bloke. Sessegnon on that left hand side sounds exciting.

Do you know anything about Bailey? The lad in Germany who's supposed to be doing well? The guy who's English but apparently the FA had no idea!

Watching the replay before I head in to work to hear all the Australians speak like they'd have won the cup had Cahill been picked.

Those ****ing penalties... lulling me into a false sense of security. Feel like we could beat the Germans at them after seeing Kane belt them both in. Unstoppable.

I think he’s already played for Jamaica mate.

He’s quality, fast as ****, left footer, had a decent season for Leverkusen. Loves running at people and scores a few.

Like I say though, sure he plays for Jamaica already, Belgian passport I think though.

The press made a big deal about him still being eligible for us and Southgate said we'd be taking a look at him going forwards... might be an option.

Loving the bundesliga at the moment. It's acting like a feeder league for our youth. That jaden sancho sounds like a player.

He was at City mate, we fed them haha.

If we feed them promising youth and they feed us ready made internationals it can only be a good thing. We've been doing it for spain, France and co for years. About time we got the same treatment.

Absolutely mate.

Turkey would have an unreal team if Germany hadn’t ****ing pinched them all.

****ing so much talent there. Shows you need to sell your cause and cap people early.

Zaha would have been a handy option for us off the bench at this world cup.
