World cup thread.

How will England play the next game against Panama? To win the group is really important. If not the fear of Germany on penalties could become real :emoticon-0107-sweat. But we will know exactly how many goals we need to go top of the table before the match, and if we get them we will only need a draw against Belguim. And while Belguim have the goals in the hutch I think Tunisia are stronger than Panama.

One positive is that if we get a couple with Rashford and Kane, we can throw Vardi and Sterling on with real purpose. They'll know it is their chance and chances may not come again. But also that if they get the goals it makes a big difference. And I see no problems replacing Alli with Loftus.

And of course plan B stuff Belguim <cool>

As some of these games are warming up I think I'm getting just a little excited :emoticon-0103-cool:

So please Gareth be bold <cheers>
It's important to win every match KC. Winning is a habit and when teams rest players they can very easily lose the thread in competitions like this. I would have no fear of Germany - if they get through at all they are there for the taking this time.

I'm not sure if Croatia will rest players. Because goal difference has precedence over the head to head result against Nigeria (if they finish equal on points) they haven't won the group yet, and may want to avoid France in the next round.

Fair point but they do have a few goals in hand. But thinking about it yup I'd try and avoid France <laugh>

I'll leave the analysis to you Cologne and go back to biting my nails. I'm good at that <cheers>

I feel quite lucky to have seen Behrami playing for Watford. As he became older and slower his brain often seemed to be ahead of the game, and I see he still plays quite a role for the Swiss. He seemed like a warrior in his time with us, and often was the leader of the team, never giving up.

Where do you work? Most of the country will be watching the game I suspect .
I do a few things, outsourced. Interpreting and translating mostly, tomorrow got a meeting to attend with Mexicans, Germans (speaking English) and me stuck in the middle! Hopefully, they'll be no mention of last Sunday! ahhaahhahaah

Some people just don't understand priorities . And will the Germans be missing their game 3 hours later as well????????

I hope you charge them quadruple time. <cheers>

Guys I know it is big for us English in Russia tomorrow but please don't forget the game at old Trafford :emoticon-0105-wink: England looking for a 5-0 whitewash in the ODI against the aussies.

My family always believed 'Good things come in threes' so I'll take a Hamilton win in France as the third leg <bubbly> What a weekend

Interesting this next game Belguim vs Tunisia. With all the combinations I'm not sure what we want. I think a draw would be best.

I say that because if Tunisia win we could still be illiminated at the group stage even if we beat Panama (3 teams on 6 points)

Funny old game. But for sure I'll watch hoping Belguim are limited to a one goal win at best. <cheers>

Well now it looks like we will need to beat Belgium to go top of the group.

Belgium 3 Tunisia 1

C'mon Tunisia :emoticon-0148-yes:

And worse now Hazard has scored the fourth. What a great finish. They are scoring for fun.

Hopefully against them it will be a game we need nothing from to progress.

So Sweden tonight could end the German dream. :emoticon-0142-happy

And then the clock will slowly click forward to 1 pm tomorrow. C'mon England :emoticon-0152-heart
