Missed the game as went out until 4am last night and well didn't even hear my alarm at 6:45am here. Highlights were great mind, we put Panama to the sword!
i have to admit, i had predicted us to go out in the group stage, because not only do i support Watford, so i'm a very negative person, but i'm also an England fan, so ...well, ditto. lol. What a thrill to be 5-0 up at half time! Who would have thunk! Nice to know we will get to the last 16 at least! Kinda loving also the familiar Watford and ex-Watford names being banded around, and even Luther got a mention today...yay!
Colombia showing what they can do with 11 men - been excellent against a very poor Poland side . Be a real threat to England if we play them and they are on form.
Going through the newspapers online and it's funny how we beat Panama and now we are going to win the World Cup. Hopefully, we will but there will be much harder tests along the way.
Interesting that England will know the lie of the land as their group is one of the last to play the 3rd game. Should they throw it to finish second if it suits? Well lets get past the 2nd round first - that will be a tough game against Colombia and of course people though Iceland would be easy - so have to be careful were we to get Senegal/Japan.
Sounds like Ronaldo got a bit lucky... Penalties and late goals seem to be the theme of this World Cup. And inconsistent use of VAR - I like the idea of it but seems that it just causes as much chaos as the refs do on the pitch anyway.

If we had suffered the ref in the Iran v Portugal game at the Vic, I suggest that we all might have been having a go at him. He was plainly dreadful.
Well that is the issue - we can have all the tools in the World but if the ref is rubbish not much can be done. As with the VAR crew - are they experienced enough ? Same in rugby .. despite all their videos I still hear complaining about the officials.
How are the French performances going down with the media in France ? They will finish top but seem to have been pretty average despite something talent . Maybe saving themselves for the knockout stages where they could face Argentina...
Most comments I have seen are talking them down. Not so different to the British press before it all kicked off. Of course we will win it now the tabloids have decreed it.
